Do not shorten the morning by getting up late, or waste it in unworthy occupations or in talk; look upon it as the quintessence of life, as to a certain extent sacred. Evening is like old age we are languid, talkative, silly. Each day is a little life: every waking and rising a little birth, every fresh morning a little youth, every going to rest and sleep a little death.
— Arthur Schopenhauer, The Wisdom of Life and Counsels and Maxims (A.W. Hayn, 1851)

so beautiful,…it is something to listen to the waves, like a meditation, peacful touches, healing soul,… Thank you dear David, but Today isn’t a day, “what day it is”… Love, nia
Yes Nia! Yes! Thank you.
There is something so cathartic about the rhythm of the waves lapping the shore, a soft reminder of life’s constancy despite the tumult. And that light? A benediction.
Beautiful sub-title for this post Lori. Thank you.
Where’s my camel?
On Strike. Demanding higher pay, or better working conditions.
Ah, the unions has been hitting the camels up!
Oh, I’m sure!
Now they will nedogiate all types of privileges that they will see litleo fo but the unions will make money on and make the camels feel intitled.
yes, here’s to the morning !
You know I agree with that!
Well, Schopenhauer had a lot of ideas how one should best live one’s life. But his philosophy is quite depressive. And what he writes in his essay “About Women” can not even be understood by the zeitgeist.
We quarrel with Schopenhauer – and we usually getting up late 😉
Keep well and happy
The Fab Four of Cley

yes, let’s keep quiet and drink coffee while watching the sunrise!
Yes!
Very philosophical … wondering if Caleb would agree or if he’s out having more fun in the desert with his buddies.
That’s a great question Val!
Sublime, David! Beautifully captured! Cher xoxoxo
Thanks Cher!
Lovely – all of it!
Yes! Thank you!
I agree – don’t shorten the day. I’m an early riser too, and I feel like I’ve wasted a precious day if I sleep in.
100% with you Anneli.
Whatever time I wake up I’m always grateful for that feeling of a “new start”. This is an excellent reflection. Happy Wednesday!
Yes! Happy Hump day to you too Carrie!
I miss the desert. Mind you sea is mesmerizing.
I think both can be mesmerizing….
In the desert, I see a mirage 🙄
I’ve never been in a desert to see. On my bucket list!
We had a small efficiency in Pompano, FLA some years ago. To stand on the wrap around deck surrounding the apartments overlooking the ocean below and the Fla. coast to the south as the wind rustled the palm branches and that balmy warm breeze caressing the skin is unforgettable. It readied one for a full and comfortable sleep as tough wrapped in the arms of God. Oh, what a wonderful natural sleep inducer. No prescription required.

You swept me away with your description. Thank you Alan.
The best thing to me is hearing water doing its thing. Be it a fountain in the garden of a rental studio’s owner, the soft waves of our lake or any lake. Pure bliss! Put today’s pics in my WhatsApp status just to share my joy. It’s called The Pearl at the Lake….
Yes. Agree Kiki!
So glad I can see your beautiful video of the rose-hued ocean coming to greet us…even though it’s now Thursday early morning.
Thank you Valerie.
This was a moment. Wow. Incredibly blessed you share it with us DK.
😀
Who is Caleb? Isn’t the camel’s name Doug? (Laughing)
Cara, in her Party of one.
Just the way I like it.
