I like this secret walking
in the fog;
unseen, unheard,
among the bushes thick with drops;
the solid path invisible
a rod away—
and only the narrow present is alive.

Photo @ 5:49 am this morning during my morning walk @ Cove Island Park. More photos from this morning’s walk here: Twilight series and Mist series. And what would the morning be without a time lapse to sunrise:
“Only the narrow present is alive.” Ah. Yes. Beautiful photo, too.
Yes and thank you Laila.
only the narrow present is alive, in the moment only. perfect place to be
I love fog and mist; the “narrow present” theory explains a lot, doesn’t it? 🙂 Beautiful photos.
Yes. So agree. Thank you!
The picture of the fog… there’s a bench in it! I have so appreciated it over the years that I’ve been lucky enough to see your photography. It’s a great photo and an awesome quote. Thanks for a great start to Monday.
Thank you Carrie. Really appreciate the kind words! Hope you are doing well.
This. Yes. Peaceful Monday to you DK.
Thank you Cara.
oh yes, I love mist, don‘t care for fog though. Wonderful quote – great start into the new week!
I do too…
Beautiful! The fog appears like a muted stripe – I always think of fog as murky clouds taking over the sky…I like how it appears as a part of the picture.
Thanks Mimi!
other than a day of perfect sunshine with temps in the mid 80s, fog would have to be my favorite type of weather condition. A good thunderstorm is probably next in line 🙂
Great photo!
Me too Jim. Thanks!
I awake before my family…I always raise the blind that looks out to the mountain (really a butte though it is named as a mountain) I also open the bathroom window, looking at the mountain… often the up-slope fog lays down between the crevasses among the mighty, Douglas firs…it is a gift to me of quiet reverence…I understand, freely feeling, what Charles Reznikoff means when he speaks of “secret” solitary moments…
What a gift!
