Watch it.

“It’s life in the dynamics, it’s the Fortissimo as well as the Pianissimo. And that’s what life is, it’s the loud and the soft and you can’t really appreciate the beauty without the difficulty, the grandeur without the adversity.”

— Trevis (Michigan, 5400 km from Dingle and now calls it home)

“The Dingle Peninsula; a rural area in County Kerry, situated on the edge of the harsh Atlantic Ocean, with a strong Irish language culture. An island within an island. Despite this, the town boasts a foreign population of nearly 30% – the locals refer to these individuals as ‘blow-ins’. What brought these people here? And what caused them to stay? With a wide variety of characters, we gain insight into the unique magic of the area and what it means to live there. We witness the highs and the lows of integrating with a rural Irish community, and ask the question of what it takes to truly be considered a ‘local’.—IcyPeaks Media

  1. 💚 Can’t watch it yet, but I’ve been there, loved that. I’ve been checking Cork’s weather (& thus am preparing to buy lottery tickets more frequently).😊

      1. I’m going to leave you to Mimi. She’s got my back.
But seriously, I’ve never in my life been a local. I wouldn’t even know what that feels like.

    1. I was just going to say the same. It‘s the same with religious circles. We called all the churches except the 2 main directions, just ‚sects‘ (cults). And I, a clever child, said But that‘s not a bad word, because all of them are sectors of the whole thing. And thus we are all, in one or another way, blown-ins!

People don’t understand. It’s just who we are. It’s a fact.

  2. I’m with Sawsan…albeit not as formidable as a hurricane (and let us stress that if Sawsan blew in as a hurricane – it was an event that did no harm). What a beautiful place town to land in. These days I’ve been doing a lot of ‘where would we go’…

  3. I couldn’t concentrate on the film. Was wondering how fun it would be to do a Timelapse there one morning.

  4. I was several times in Ireland and loved it, loved the boisterous Irish, their humour, but it IS very wet. I would totally watch that film and have heard only good things about Kerry.
Are you having Irish roots? Me thinks you frequently talk about Irish heritage, stories.

    1. Lucky you to have visited Kiki. I have not purchased an Ancestor / Family Tree analysis but there must be some lineage there, you are right.
