I will only remind you of your earlier observations… And what people say is less important than what they cannot.
— C. S. Lewis, in a conversation with Sigmund Freud, in “Freud’s Last Sessions” (2023).
Notes:
- Movie Review in NY Times: ‘Freud’s Last Session’ Review: Film Adaptation and Its Discontents. Sigmund Freud and C.S. Lewis probably never met. What the stage-based film presupposes is: Maybe they did?

Wow! That would be good.
Anthony Hopkins is so good. I could watch anything he’s in….
Me as well. xo
C.S. Lewis and S. Freud never met to my knowledge. I agree with Freud that god is an illusion and to believe in religion a kind of mass-neurosis. But unfortunately I haven’t seen the film yet, I only read some reviews.
Thanks Klaus. I has decidedly mixed reviews and ratings. I’m a huge fan of Hopkins and love dit.
this quote is so very true. I love Anthony Hopkins and can’t wait to see this
Wow – that‘s definitely a keeper. Anything with Anthony Hopkins in it is worth watching. He is always believable and he has frightened sometimes the sh.. out of me in his darker roles. Thanks for this – it might take a while to come to my vicinity but I‘ve time to wait for something so worthwhile!
So agree on Anthony Hopkins. What talent!
Oooh… Hadn’t heard of this one!
Hadn’t heard of this one either, but like so many others, I adore Anthony Hopkins, so into the queue it goes! ☺️
He’s so good!
Appreciate the heads up Dave. Thanks!
Hope all is well in your world. – Paul
All good Paul. Thank you.
These recent posts are surreal and perfectly timed (for reasons I will share in a day or so – nothing particularly special, just need to let it percolate a bit)
Can’t wait to read your post Mimi!
Yes. I loved it to.
So glad Cindy. I didn’t want to be alone on this recommendation!
