hello friends, wally here. happy christmas eve. i’m trying to lift the spirits here, where its a bit heavy, but not sure how to turn up my cute any higher. mom got teary eyed about dad’s youngest brother lorne who died on christmas eve 3 years ago. dad who doesn’t forget / let go of anything, stared blank faced, and walked away. with this giant hole, and dana (DANA!) being away, and that we haven’t seen eric since she left, and rachel and andrew sleeping till 11am, its very quiet around here, so i hang out and wrestle with sully, my brother. dad told me to say brother and not uncle, nephew, cousin or some other nonsense that mom keeps spewing, like she knows. dad went out on his walk this morning, came back with a chill, still chilled, worse than damn antarctica he called it. it sure must be cold in antarctica. i found the warmest vent in the house in the main floor bathroom so i plopped right down on it and took a nap. mom said i’ve got more presents than anyone, and so many from dad’s work friend caroline. i asked dad if i could open a few, and dad said no chance and that i have to wait, bah! neighbor Sue gave us a soft and cuddly blanket with frenchies on it, we love it so much. sully and i take turns sleeping on it. i’m so excited about tomorrow morning to open my presents. have a great day everyone.

Snuggle up little one! There’s lots of fun tomorrow morning❣️
Can’t wait Val!
I stil can’t get how small he is. In had a Shar Pei and she was so tiny at 6 weeks but she grow fast. She was my baby, here name was Sashsa. You don’t open presents tonight?
He is Melinda. We just open 1 present tonight as tradition.
I think that’s the English way. I’m opening all!!! I got a 14Pro IPhone it arrived a few days ago. Have a great day tomorrow.
14 Pro! Awesome. Enjoy! Merry Christmas!
You have one aready?
Much love to your dad. Christmas is hard for those of use who lost someone around the holidays. Give him extra hugs for me, okay? You are so smart to lie on the vent and that blanket looks soooo cuddly! Happy Christmas Eve to you!
The blanket is so great dale. Dad keeps wanting to take it from me to nap! Merry Christmas!
I can’t say I blame him!
Right!!!
Ahh Wally, give your Mom and Dad extra snuggles today. The holidays are wonderful in many regards, but sadly they also make the sense of loss much keener. The sense of cold, clearly , is not one you are embracing. Between the vent and the blanket, you must have put any chills on the run. Enjoy your big day tomorrow…suspect you and Sully will have the biggest ‘gift piles’ of all. 🎅🎄💕
Thank you Lori!
Hugs to your mom and dad. Many of us miss someone we love at this time of year. That new blanket looks so snuggly. Have fun tomorrow morning! Snuggles and Merry Christmas from all of us at Casa Foster.
Thank you Darlene and Casa Foster. It is so snuggly. Merry Christmas!
Ok Sully looks like a proper hipster prince in that first photo.
Lots of love to the K family
He is such a hipster. Thank you Laila. Happy Holidays to you too.
Wally, you’ve got it right! Warmth midst the cold; snooogly comfort midst life’s challenge. So good to love and be loved…and THAT goes on and on. Even our sadness is about our past love and loving memories…that are never enough. YOU ARE A BIG HELP!
I hope so Valerie!

Brrrr morning … “hello friends, wally here. happy christmas eve!!”
❤️ ❤️Pass those on, Wally.
Thank you! Happy Holidays!
Aaawh, so much cuddliness, love, warmth and a bit of a chill too…..
I understand your dad who is still mourning his brother, so we must give him the extra cuddles he surely needs. I‘ve lost three family members within 10 months, but I mostly am thankful that some of their suffering was over and their poor bodies found rest. Don‘t know if my thoughts make sense to dad but in any case if he nourishes his hate on fate, it‘s not gonna do him any good.
Anyway, I‘m sending extra love and warmth to all of you. It must be hard for your parents to ‚just‘ have you two doggies who only yearn to be warm and well fed, unpacking gifts and play….. when everybody was used to have Dana and Eric AND more family around. I trust you will make up any tears and sad memories with your feisty and convincing happiness. Sully will help too and thus you will make their Christmas a truly good one.
Much love to all of you.
Thanks for sharing Kiki. 3 family members is 10 months is lot to grapple with. Merry Christmas.
Sorry you hass to learn about loss at such a tender age.
We need you to hold Mom and Dad tight in your heart, please, Wally.
I didn’t get to know your uncle Lorne. But one thing I LOVED and dearly miss about him is how he dared to put daddy in his place. He messed with daddy all the time. It was fun to watch. When people we love leave, we’re left with a hole in our hearts in their shape. I so sorry.
Thanks Sawsan! Happy Holidays
be patient with the humans, they are trying
They are!
Tis the season for lots of hugs and snuggles – and my hunch is that puppy licks and snuggles from you will help a lot today…
I think so Mimi. I think you are right. Merry Christmas!
Blessings to you all, David. Extra hugs, and Merry Christmas. Cher xoxoxo
Thank you Cher. Merry Christmas!
Yours is a “must read” blog for some time. I have to say the addition of Wally this year makes this an even more attractive blog! Love the little rascal!
Smiling. Thanks so much Doug!
My pleasure, literally!
I almost forgot: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I lost both a brother and a sister around Christmas. It does add a heaviness to the holiday, yet one needs to remember that Christmas is the prelude to the single most important event in Christian theology, Easter and the Resurrection of Christ. Given that, the sadness is “tainted” with joy!
Awesome way to think about a loss Doug. Thank you
It helps me deal with it, their loss. I’m not a “churchy” person, though I do try to treat others with kindness, be respectful of others’ beliefs, take to heart the teachings of Jesus, live a humble life. I fail so often, yet I continue to try for a more perfect way of living.
Inspired. Thank you Doug. That’s a model we should all aspire to live.
