Arrival this afternoon. Name still pending.
- Benny?
- Walter / Wally (cousin of Sully)
- Bruce (for The Boss)?
Not exactly sure why, but I can’t get Do Wah Diddy Diddy out of my head:
There she he was just a-walkin’ down the street, singin’‘Do wah diddy diddy dum diddy do’Snappin’ her his fingers and shufflin’ her feet, singin’‘Do wah diddy diddy dum diddy do’She He looked good (Looked good)She He looked fine (Looked fine)She He looked good, she he looked fineAnd I nearly lost my mind
Before I knew it she he was walkin’ next to me, singin’‘Do wah diddy diddy dum diddy do’Holdin’ my hand just as natural as can be, singin’‘Do wah diddy diddy dum diddy do’We walked on (Walked on)To my door (My door)We walked on to my doorThen we kissed a little more
Whoa-oh, I knew we was falling in loveYes, I didAnd so I told her all the thingsI’d been dreamin’ of
Now we’re together nearly every single day, singin’‘Do wah diddy diddy dum diddy do’A-we’re so happy, and that’s how we’re gonna stay, singin’‘Do wah diddy diddy dum diddy do’
Well, I’m hers his (I’m hers his)She’s He’s mine (She’s He’s mine)
YAY!! YAY!! AWWWWWWWW BABY!! Ok, all the caps are giving me a headache…that is arguably the cutest little guy ever (my pups exempted)…enjoy every second, get as many puppy kisses as possible and rub that tummy (his, not yours)…You have made my day, my week, my month possibly…he’s yours and your his…do wha diddy diddy dum diddy do
First Comment from YOU! How appropriate is THAT. Thank you!
Heart. Melting. DK, I am SO, SO happy for you, and echo everything that Mimi said. Best excuse for an ‘Awwww baby’ EVER! Let the adventure begin!! 🥰🥰🥰
Laughing! Thanks Lori. Appreciate all the encouragement over the last 5 years!
Oh my goodness, I’m thinking just « Boss » would suffice. He is definitely going to rule with that amount of cuteness. 😍 Congratulations, David, I know you’ve being wanting a fur kid for a while. Enjoy!
Thank you Sharon!
Not crying. I’m am not.
So happy for you
He’s adorable ❤️
Omg! Now you’ve got me going too!
I vote for The Boss, Bruce!
He’s definitely the boss.
I’m outvoted on Bruce!
OMG! He is so sweet. He looks like a Bruce to me. The song is perfect. Enjoy!!
Thank you Darlene!
Congratulations! So cute
Thank you!
Outrageously, totally CUTE by any name. He looks like a Jake to me, but I look forward to more on what you call this little sweetie!
Thanks Doug!
Such a cute face!
And the eyes! Thanks Jill!
Dave – you have no idea how we have all been waiting for this to happen! So happy for you and Susan – he is a beautiful boy. Such adventures you will have with him”walkin’ by your side”. Mind the slippery rocks tho. I vote Bruce as well.
Smiling! Thank you! There’s been a lot of votes for Bruce!
♥️OmG, he’s like a Boxer, Corgi, Frenchie all rolled into one — “Borgie”! Actually, I like your thought.. “Do-wah.” It sounds French! 😉 OmG, congrats!! Enjoy!!
Thank you!
Reblogged this on It Is What It Is and commented:
Going home? … “Not exactly sure why, but I can’t get Do Wah Diddy Diddy out of my head!”
He’s arrived!
That’s wonderful. I am so happy for you 🙂
Thank you Dale!
Weak attempt at not overplaying … but…
IT’S ABOUT TIME!! ♥️♥️Raye
Laughing. It’s way way overtime!!!!! Thanks Raye!
you got yourself baby?
Yes! Photos forthcoming. Just picked him up 30 min ago.
I knew Sully was growing on you!!!!! the puppy is beautiful! I want one the next time. They’re perfect since they don’t require lots of walking since the can overheat. Or at least I think I read that while researching before we adopted out mutt.
Not sure about the walking thing. Susan does the heavy lifting!
she walks the dog?
Most of the time….
He’s so lovable! (thinking that you’ll need to add an “ee” sound to any single syllable name) Sully’s name comes with the ee. What feels comfortable to you? What does he tell you?
Thanks Valerie. We’re still figuring out what’s comfortable. He’s been home 30 min now. Had dinner. Peed outside. Progress!!!
He has soulfully deep eyes – Mr Cutie eyes are melty…I can tell he will be more playful than most…I know he will Lead you around 🙂 as sweet pups do…another name for Leader is “Boss” <<< gets my vote…You need to be select in your choice…/// I say this, as one of our pups when I was teenager had an unusual name, which cause embarrassment to me and my beautiful sisters…he would get out of the yard or race out the front door when someone would be leaving…chasing him down the street (with a large park on the other side & also drivers with their windows down) hearing what we were – calling, calling out "Weirdo" elicited unwanted attention… (if you have any readers who might have grown up where I did, they would know who this, Christie is)
Laughing. Susan said Boss is out. Not sure where we land. And yes, The eyes!
OMG! Now you’re going to be taking pictures flat on your back for months of walks. Really happy for you (assuming you’ll avoid that). That darned Sully charmed you into it, didn’t he? This little guy is SO sweet. You’ve made the right decision. (Took ya long enuff.)
As for a name, just make sure it doesn’t rhyme with “No.” I know someone who named their dog Joe and it was a training disaster. “NO, Joe.” And every time he calls Joe’s name it sounds like a reprimand.
I like Benny. Wally is too low in tone and not as easily heard when you’re screaming for him to come back from the slippery rocks. Bruce is too serious, and also doesn’t lend itself to calling.
Speaking of which, a neighbour of mine had a dog also called Emma (like mine) so when we got our Emma we copied her alternate way of getting the dog to come. She did four quick hand claps and the sound carried without being as annoying as a whistle or a woman screaming the dog’s name. My Emma now comes to four hand claps and it’s an easy way to call her. Benny would be a nice name for your beautiful dog, but “This dog by any other name would be as sweet.”
Loved this Comment Anneli. So much to chew on here. Bruce is out. We’re down to Wally or Walter or Henri or Whatever Susan wants! 😄
And I love the hand clap approach. On it.
It really works for me, as I don’t have a loud voice, and it’s less intrusive on the neighbours to clap hands than to blow a whistle. Also, I might not have a whistle with me but I always have my hands with me. That is such a cute dog!!!
I like it. And I don’t have to go Mental in public!
Bosco!
I like it!
cannot wait for the adventures the two of you will have together, as you try to teach each other about the world !
Me too! Thanks Beth!
Awe man!! This is so awesome. Love this wee boy. Congratulations ❣️
Thank you Val!
I was telling the Captain about not naming the dog Joe and he said the one he knew had called his dog Beau. So it was constantly, “No, Beau, no.” Or if he called his dog, Beau thought he was always in trouble. (Did he say Beau or No?)
Laughing!
Since you’ll be writing and snapping photos of Mr Sweet pup…The Book will
write, its self! The Adventure of “?” /// I like Bela’s suggestion of Bosco!
Laughing. You are right Christie. I like Bosco too!
I’m happy for you DK 👏👏😌
Thank you Karen!
Welcome to you new home lovely he is, dear Dave, I am so happy to hear this, as much as you. This a wonderful news, and will be so exciting too. Blessing and Happiness to your togetherness… Love, nia
Thank you Nia!
I think he looks kind of like an “Oliver” or “Finn.” I agree that Bruce should be passed on because there’s an already famous “Bruce” on the internet…but it’s a doberman. Have you seen the page for Ruby the doberman? She’s a super famous pup and she died not too long ago. The new pup in the household is named Bruce. Have fun with this adorable little guy.
Oliver and Finn are good! Thanks Carol!
Aaawh, it’s such fun to read your blog backwards! (Or sometimes disturbing when I don’t get developments).
I’m SO glad Susan and you got a new puppy. You needed that!
Congratulations 🎊
Thank you Kiki!
