Although he speaks literally, I think the challenge presents itself metaphorically to us all..how to love the facets of who we are, the presentations of those parts of us that are enervating, annoying, unpleasant, etc…certainly there are parts of me that I find far more appealing than others (ok, ‘appealing’ may be a stretch, and self-love is an ongoing challenge for me, but you know what I mean). More coffee…

  4. Am thinking the “required to love multiple versions” is like how I’ve felt about my children–loving them no matter what, and what goes with that is non judgment. Evaluating whether they were lovable or not never came into focus. So, “being with what is” rather than opinionating. Works for the self as well.
