I “came into” bird watching in my mid 40’s and was immersed in it for about 5 years. Then, just as quickly as it started, it faded away. I still have my Peterson Field Guide and occasionally will try to grab a picture of some feathered creature I’ve not noticed before, but I don’t spend hours each weekend simply waiting, looking and….. relaxing.

Smiling at your closing line. I look. I haven’t figured out the waiting and relaxing part. I admire the color in your bird shots Ray.

I still recall, a little over 2 years ago, if it had wings it was just a bird to you, DK.
Loading...
Hmmmm. Every day I’m scrambling to stay just a few years behind you. It’s a struggle.
Loading...
Actually, anything with wings was just dinner to you.
😎

Sawsan! I’m vegatarian!
Loading...
Then I’m a He/Him/His!
Not that there’s anything wrong with that!
Loading...
LAUGHING!
Loading...
I didn’t know that your a vegatarian. I have a great recipe that is vegatarian and those of us not vegatarian love it too!
Loading...
I’m not. I was teasing her!
Loading...
I didn’t fall for it.
Loading...
You, to a ‘T”!
Loading...
Yes. And guess who set me up? See credits at bottom of the post?
Loading...
So, wait… youze guyz are on Tumblr, too? Sheesh…
Loading...
Sawsan is Global.
Loading...
As are you, apparently… where have I been? Can I even remember my Tumblr account name and password? That was eons ago… Now, you understand, I must go snoop.
Loading...
hahahaha – I know this to be true

So glad I’m not alone Beth!

the goldfinch has returned to Ann Arbor and made my day! (if that is any indication…)
Loading...
Awwww
Loading...
LOL! It’s more wonder-watching than bird-watching,😊, but I live in fear of being slapped for pointing out a finally-identified Carolina wren one MORE time, here. (And it would be SO worth it.) I love all your shots from today.
Loading...
Laughing. Wren’s can be aggressive! And thank you!

My 3 year old granddaughter, after a long pre-school day last week, said “Let’s sit on the porch and look at the birds.” Yes. Let’s!
Loading...
So nice!!!!
Loading...
Lisa Anne, I love the sweet words your granddaughter spoke…how lucky your are to live in close proximity to her!
Loading...
It is a joy.
Loading...
We hope one day to be grandparents…We all need more Joy in our lives…even though we are all blessed, beyond our own knowledge…
“Each breath is a Gift”!!!
Loading...
Lisa-Anne; what a lucky woman you are…. love your grandie!
Loading...
Wow! You’re getting later anad later everyday. What has you sleeping better at night? Or is is different during the week?
Loading...
You are so right Melinda. And so observant. No. I had a terrible night’s sleep. 4.5 hrs.
Loading...
Why don’t you take someting? Do you take Melatonin at least? Drink a big glass of milk before bed or when you wake up in the night. I have to take an RX or I’d never sleep. Another thing my doctor said is taking Benadryl at night can make you sleepy.
Loading...
I take 2 Advil PM per night.
Loading...
Doesn’t sound like that works!
Loading...
Not well!
Loading...
Reaad up on natural sleep adies and give then a go. 4.5 is never enough, 7 hours is the magic number for our age. 🙂
Loading...
I’m 1-2 hours a night short.
Loading...
Is it anxiety? or just jacked up?
Loading...
Jacked up.
Loading...
Have you tried skiping all electronics and tv an hour to at least thirty minutes befoe bedtime. The other thing I find helpful is I go to bed 30-hour before bedtime to get my mind to clear so I’m ready for bedtime.
Loading...
Good idea. Will do.
Loading...
I also just saw an article that said Yoga is a good way to prepare for sleep. I think it’s the concentration and the clearing of the mind that help gets you ready to sleep.
Loading...
One thing that’s easy to do is buy a small bottle of essential oil in Lavender and put a touch of it on boths sides of your neck ,on the back of neck and on your chest. That will give you enough, for some, sleep. I use a sonic diffuser that provides white noise withought being loud. You don’t have to use Lavender alone, I buy a Sleep Blend and enjoy other scents at the same time. I’m going to stop with the suggestions now or I’ll have to charge you!
Loading...
Laughing. Thank you. I appreciate the free advice and therapy. I need it!
Loading...
It sounds like it!!!!! That’s why your the big dog, right!
Loading...
Ha!!!!
Loading...
DK, you have me beat…I’ve not had more than 4 hours a night for two weeks, ugh…me long term sleep disorders…& it didn’t help that some spam call came in before 6am! waking me up…Hopefully, one day you and I can report on a good nights sleep…
Loading...
4 hours! Ouch! That’s not great Christie. Here’s to a better night’s sleep tonight.

My gypsy friend finds it to be sport. And you should see the missiles she sends my on email.

It’s my favorite sports. I’m burning tons of calories here. Hehehe…..
Loading...
I doubt that you burn many calories at all. It’s just like breathing for you.
Loading...
I do burn calories. It takes plotting and planning. I actually gained weight when I was gone for 2 years. I’m all back into shape now. Now that I can wack your boat like a whale when you least expect it. Not only that, set you up for it.
Loading...
LAUGHING. STILL LAUGHING. Wack your boat like a whale”. I’ll never forget that.
Loading...
Whack his boat like a whale? Ohmygosh, Sawsan, that is terrific! 😂
Loading...
Right. So terrific.
Loading...
I make you proud, right?
Loading...
😂😂 You do, my friend, you do!
Loading...
No denying the platonic love that is the foundation of the banter…
I chuckled when I read this, as I have become much more attuned to avian life since moving to Florida. Sandhill Cranes and Great Blue Herons striding across our yard, Crested caracara scavenging in our pastures, Osprey and Cooper’s Hawk riding the wind in slow, easy circles above the pond, it’s mesmerizing.

Wow Lori. Wild Kingdom!
Loading...
Some days it seems that way. Discovered a gator in our pond the other day, too. 😳
Loading...
Wowza!
Loading...
Birds YES PLEASE, gators in your pond: eeeeeeks oh my gosh….
Loading...
Sounds worse than it is, Kiki. There are gators all over the place down here. We just give them a wide berth. Mutual respect goes a long way toward keeping the peace. 😉

I love how puffed up he is. So cute.

I saw this meme posted to Facebook. I laughed, but then I thought well, I really appreciate that I have the time and focus to appreciate nature all the more, as I age. It’s a gift, really.

Well, that’s certainly one way to describe it.
I’ve been looking at bedding online today and just noticed this quilt, sweet bird …
