T.G.I.F: a segment of the rainbow which I have clutched

The true harvest of my daily life is somewhat as intangible and indescribable as the tints of morning or evening.  It is a little star-dust caught, a segment of the rainbow which I have clutched.

– Henry David Thoreau, Walden

  1. Nothing like beginning a day with tears at the blend of beauty in your photograph and Thoreau’s words. I am reminded that I have been too serious for too long. An important reminder at the beginning of Spring when stardust takes all forms. Thank you for this faithful effort you make to share your noticings, David.

  2. Thank you for showing us the poetry and “tints” we may miss in our lives. I loved seeing the few photos that led to this one with the segment of rainbow…what a morning you witnessed!

  4. WOW, when I spied that on my phone, I thought ‘oh a painting by Turner’…. turns out it’s a genuine DK (sadly I can’t think of a pun rhyming with Turner….) – this is magnificent and well worth a tear or a smile – and a bit of gratitude! Thanks for sharing.
