Lightly Child, Lightly.

…And I should mention the light

which falls through the big windows this time of day

italicizing everything it touches…

Billy Collins, from “Old Man Eating Alone in a Chinese Restaurant” in Ballistics: Poems (Picador; June 18, 2009)

  4. Ah, the light. 🙂 And did you know Billy ran a live “Poetry Broadcast” on Facebook every day for at least the first year of the pandemic? I think he’s still doing it a couple of times a week.

  5. Another amazing sunrise. We don’t get them like that on the west coast. We get the sunsets, but not the sunrises like this because here, the sun rises over land (which we have to our east). I think that’s the reason anyway.
