…And I should mention the light
which falls through the big windows this time of day
italicizing everything it touches…

Beauty,
Thanks Dale.
OMG – the light in that one tiny part of the by far not ordinary poem by Billy Collins. 😉
Yes!
Magnificent!
Thank you Gordon!
Ah, the light. 🙂 And did you know Billy ran a live “Poetry Broadcast” on Facebook every day for at least the first year of the pandemic? I think he’s still doing it a couple of times a week.
No! I didn’t know that. Cool!
Another amazing sunrise. We don’t get them like that on the west coast. We get the sunsets, but not the sunrises like this because here, the sun rises over land (which we have to our east). I think that’s the reason anyway.
Yes Anneli. We are so blessed. And to think for 10 years living here, I didn’t know that it existed.
Very glad you found it!
Me too!

Early morning light … “Billy Collins, from “Old Man Eating Alone in a Chinese Restaurant” in Ballistics: Poems (Picador; June 18, 2009)”
That light! and all those creatures awaiting it along with our personal photographer! “Italicizing” …a description from that wonderful poet’s mind of Billy Collins…
Smiling. Yes!
I was drawn in and got lost in the beauty, as I imagined how each breath in and out, enriched my lungs…my heart silently, pumped blood throughout my body…warming, nourishing…brain and soul engaged…Joy Forward… /// I love the title of Billy Collins, poem 🙂
Beautiful!
Magic! 👏👏👏
