I love the natural world and I never ceased to see it. The beauty of trees and fields, of hills and streams, of the changing colours, of the small creatures so busy and occupied. My long hours walking or sitting in the field with my back against the wall, watching the clouds and the weather, allowed me some steadiness. It was because I knew all this would be there when I was not that I thought I could go. The world was beautiful. I was a speck in it.

yes, I am in love with nature too.
With you Kelly
There is nothing quite like the wonder of nature, a true gift.
Agree with you Claire.
I think I highlighted the same passage!
And yes. Yes. Yes.
Yes! Birds of a feather…
‘twould appear! 😉
I’m quite a fan of Jeanette… For all those who would like to get to know her a bit more, I’d like to lead you to her website and her books. But first pls read her ‘about’ site, one of the most detailled and informative you can find: https://www.jeanettewinterson.com/author
I started with her first book and took it from there. No regrets!
Thank you Kiki!
Thank you for the link, Kiki! What a life…, what a history…, and she found the best and most enduring–nature!
I was wondering where the lighthouse was – great photos! enjoy your time in Nantucket!

and the natural colors will continue on long after us –
I’m yes they do Beth.
That beach is calling for me to walk on it.
Beaches here are like nothing I’ve seen anywhere. Soft white sand. Free of rick, seaweed and Garbage. Community has volunteer garbage pick up 3x per week to keep it all pristine.
That’s so great. Looks wonderful.
I think it was Friday night when I thought, “Wait a minute, wait a minute.. someone’s missing.. omG! DK! He better be alright!” 🙂 It was even bettah — you were Nantucket-alright! 😉 (Lovely photos. Gonna check out the book link tomorrow.)
Awww. Thank you.
Fantastic…
A bit late to this party, pal, but no less appreciative. Wow and wow again. Nantucket suits you! ❤️
Thank you Lori. I found Nantucket to be unlike anything I have “felt” anywhere else. Less the shops and town, but the landscape. Heaven on earth.
I hear ya. A very special place….
