As an old-fashioned slapstick comedian, yes, I admired her. She was funny in a very goofy way. It worked better in the days before women had many rights, especially in marriage. I think it was Lucy’s fun way of getting the better of little situations (showing who really ruled the roost) that made women love her. I found her funny, watching her from a child’s point of view, but now it just seems silly. Her comedy had a big place in the hearts of the housewives of another generation.
