“If the sun is shining, stand in it
– yes, yes, yes.”
~ Jeanette Winterson, Why Be Happy When You Could Be Normal?

- Quote: Thank you Whiskey River. Photo by Susan Kanigan (South Beach, Miami, 2017)
- Post Title & Inspiration: Aldous Huxley: “It’s dark because you are trying too hard. Lightly child, lightly. Learn to do everything lightly. Yes, feel lightly even though you’re feeling deeply. Just lightly let things happen and lightly cope with them.”
The shining sun is what´s keeping me going these days. I stand, and more often sit, in it often. Sending hugs. xo
So me to Darlene
New York should have whatever it needs right now! Sun, blue sky and lots of love 💚💕🌈
Yes all that, thanks!
Great admonition for times like these!
It is Marlan
That has become my mantra of late. When the sun hits my shoulders, I can feel the tension melt. Nature is my savior.
Beautifully stated Lori.
Where the heck is the ‘love’ button?
Ha!
find the sun and take it in wherever and whenever you can. that is my prescription.
I’ll take that medicine.

The sun … the almighty, cleansing sun!! ~ Jeanette Winterson, Why Be Happy When You Could Be Normal?
Yes yes yes…
And the photo, wow!
Now I see where Eric gets it from.
Ha. Of course zero of that talent comes from me.
I don’t know of anyone on this planet with the latest iPhone who takes blurry pictures. Only you!
OK. Sawsan is back.
Laughing…
This lockdown is not taking my ‘worst nightmare’ status away!
Where have you been?
What do you mean?
Bravo Susan
Thanks Dave
Enormous amount of ❤ from me!!!
Unless of course you have had your one Boris walk already – lol
Yes. Yes.
As I read this beautiful quote, outside my window, the sun is kissing the morning sky with pink and rosy hues.
Yes!
Awwww
What a lovely shot! My husband is from the ’50s school where one does not shoot into the sun, but rather puts the sun directly in the subject’s poor eyes, lol. I love these younger photographers who dare to catch what they see. (And I found out last night that you hadn’t up and disappeared sometime since Sunday, but that I’d somehow unFollowed you. No idea how that happened.) Whew! Glad to see you and all your commenters. Stay well!
Oh, this reminded me of all the pictures with Mom’s long shadow falling over us as she held that old Brownie. A psychiatrist’s wet dream!
Laughing. True!
Thanks Carol! You too!
is there anything better than the feel of sunshine? John Denver had it right…
He did!
Now that we have a few sunny days, I realize how much I craved sunshine.
What a gorgeous picture from Susan!
And yes, when the sun shines, do bask in it. It lifts one’s spirits
Ohmygosh I just read the first page of “Why Be Happy When You Can Be Normal?” I want to read it.
Laughing. I thought same thing.
Have you read it?
No. In cue.
On my Kindle…
Reading “This is Happiness” now….
Let me know…
This is happiness? You bet.
It feels so darn good doesn’t it!!
It does for that moment!
Great post thhank you
Thanks Pierre
