She always bats 1.000

As Rob Watson, one of my favorite environmental teachers, likes to remind people: “Mother Nature is just chemistry, biology and physics. That’s all she is.”

You cannot sweet-talk her. You cannot spin her. You cannot manipulate her. And you certainly cannot tell her, “Mother Nature, stop ruining my beautiful stock market.”

No, no, no. Mother Nature will always and only do whatever chemistry, biology and physics dictate, and “Mother Nature always bats last,” says Watson, “and she always bats 1.000.”

Do not mess with Mother Nature.

PLEASE, read all of it. It’s short and to the point … “Mother Nature will always and only do whatever chemistry, biology and physics dictate, and “Mother Nature always bats last,” says Watson, “and she always bats 1.000.”

  5. Mother Nature is absolutely in charge. We humans are a part of Mother Nature. We are one with her. When we think different, and think of ourselves as being superior … then we have lost it.
This is a time to recognize that we humans are simply a part of it all. To support, reach out, adapt, and heal. 💛

  8. Mom Nature is a force to be reckoned with and maybe our day of reckoning is here David. If nothing else, perhaps we will return to a healthy respect for the expertise of our most observant citizens, the scientists, researchers and professionals whose prophetic utterings are more and more ignored by people who want to believe that “folksy wisdom” is more reliable. She doesn’t give a damn about our plans but we better start paying attention to hers.
