Sunday Morning. A Minute of Silence.

Tom Hanks as Mr. Fred Rogers in “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.” With an all-star performance by Matthew Rhys.  Movie, Highly Recommended.

  5. A beautiful meditation with which to start this day. Amazing the images and thoughts that streamed into my mind in that minute, and the lump of gratitude that quickly swelled in my throat. A simple act, a profound impact. Must remember… Wishing you a peaceful Sunday with some of those who have loved you into being, pal….

    • Lori I too had a lump in my throat and an allergy in my eyes (very inconvenient as I was fully beautified and ready to storm off for the day….) ! I always, when I see a sequence of this film and/or read an interview with Tom Hanks I wonder, HOW ON EARTH did he manage to make such looooong pauses, speak so slowly – how hard must it have been to slow down…. and I smile some more!

  11. Wow! Such a powerful moment. Some of my favorite acting is the subtle stuff without words. I’m reminded of the performances by Bruce Dern in Nebraska and Robert Duvall in Tender Mercies. And who could pull that moment off but Tom Hanks? He is the best. Love this David.

  13. I loved this part of the movie. You could feel the swell of love in the theatre – so weird and powerful at the same time.

And now we have to send some love to Tom and Rita, both fighting the Corona virus…
