What is there in life if you do not work? There is only sensation, and there are only a few sensations— you cannot live on them. You can only live on work, by work, through work. How can you live with self-respect if you do not do things as well as lies in you?

amazing; there was far more in her than just an incredible voice!
Now back to work 😉
(thought on viewing the photo: I know her but from where?)

Sawsan, I always loved my work and I was extremely lucky with my jobs. But now I’m a ‘Lady of leisure’ (;) not really) and honestly, I don’t know how many times I’ve been thinking: How on earth could I do a full time’s work as well….? It’s all a matter of mind – I nowadays couldn’t manage a gainful employment in addition to all the things I’m doing all day long. (but needs demand, I know).

Her work was a full expression of herself, her passion and her life. Lets find our passion and live it fully 💛

Maybe change the word “work” too “purpose”. Give yourself a reason to get up in the morning. Be part of society or of something. Being your work is no good because when you retire, you are no more (not true but some have built their identities with work so when it is gone, they feel they are worthless)…
Maybe I’m off point here…

I like this perspective, maybe because I don’t want to “work” my whole life. But having a purpose, most definitely.

I think it’s necessary to feel vital and alive. Those who don’t whither away…

I wrote a blog today about NOT working..aka retirement. I hear those who are retired are busier than when they were employed. Work work a different kind of work!

This is poppycock – she died at age 54. That’s where her workaholic mindset got her.

Could very well be true and on point. Another perspective is 54 full years may have been entire fulfilling. Thanks for sharing. Your point sits with me every day.
