Lightly Child, Lightly.

Once outside, I quicken my step as I head to my car. I have patients to see at the office, people like me, all of us trying our best to get out of our own ways. The light on the corner is about to change so I run to catch it, but then I notice the warmth on my skin and I stop at the curb, tilting my face to the sun, soaking it in, lifting my eyes to the world. Actually, I’ve got plenty of time.

Lori Gottlieb, from her new book titled Maybe You Should Talk to Someone: A Therapist, HER Therapist, and Our Lives Revealed. Chosen as one of Amazon’s top 10 Books of the Month for April 2019.

Perhaps, Miami has a higher per capita of women wearing “Sizzling Red” Lipstick or Lip Stain? (are you people watching at the beach or the hitting the night life?) I wonder what a tube of Red in a luxury store on Lincoln Rd…willing to bet their might be a tube nearing $75.00… I’d think that this time of year “Coral” would be a hot ticket for the lips?

  10. Mmmm yes. Last night I sat on the back deck and watched — and listened — to the thunderstorm that went around us, circling south and west, not coming to where I sat. And it was wonderful, watching the lightning, hearing the soft thunder in the distance. I should have been doing dishes, hanging up clothes, but I just sat in the sanctity of my little deck…and listened. And watched. And it was wonderful.
