Plod. Plod. Plod. It’s not forever. It’s just for right now.

Notes:

  • Post Title: Melody Beattie from Short Blog, Long Walk: “I’m grateful. I’m just not sure what for yet. Plod. Plod. Plod. Sometimes that’s what we’ve got to do. It’s not forever. It’s just for right now.

    1. More than a thousand years ago a Chinese Zen Master wrote:

      Magical Power, Marvelous Action!

      Chopping Wood, Carrying Water…

      …thanks for the reminder, shamanism1

      1. I’m not familiar with her blog.
But this post of hers is timely.
And this is why we love Live & Learn,
The man behind it adorns it with little precious gems ❤

        1. I am not familiar with her writings at all – never much got into self-help books…
However, I agree with you. This post is most timely for me too.
Yes, it is why we love David – he is the gem.

  1. I’m often like that – not in an earth shattering context like Melody Beattie but in my own little world crashing around my ears. But I’m still hopelessly grateful (I call it thankful but like actually grateful just as much – is there a fine difference I can’t grasp?)….
The ‘banging’ monkey is just the ticket to those words…. I could actually think of a few ‘banging-on monkeys’ right now!

  2. Plod, plod, plod. Sometimes it does feel like you’re plodding forever and making little headway. Till you stop, look back and see just how far you’ve come.

  3. Hit one beat. Then another. Then another. Then another. And pretty soon, you’ve banged out a nice rhythm for a song. This reminds me of something I just saw in the movie “The Martian” which was a decent film produced off a great book. I plan to post something in that regard and I’ll let you know when it’s up. Cheers!
