“There is a certain tone in the things that matter, an architecture of delayed light or slow sounds from long ago. Fragments for the after-silence, the sorting of a garden. Things in their essence. Spiritual forms, an invisible geometry of objects that gives strength to us through music…Whispered petitions to show us the way or to destroy us completely. Every word a last word. Every sound a revenant.”

No words, David!
No words…
Quelle photo !
Yes!
Wow. And I’m still reeling from the last post.
Yes, same here.
And the world sits and watches. Why, why, why?????

Wow.
Yes, my reaction too…

Count our blessings … and keep those like him in our hearts and minds!
Aside from the drama and conflict here, you could get a feeling of how it is; smoking his pipe and looking for some comfort, as we all do – different realities.
Terrific insight Tiramit.
If this doesn’t give us perspective and compassion, nothing ever will.
So true Peg.
so poignant!
Punched in the gut, once again. And it’s touching that it seems his record player has been spared.

Sometimes I just don’t know what to say. This is one of those times. Such a beautiful quote. It needs digesting time…..
And just wherEVER do you find all these penetrating, keen observations and quotes?
All over friend!

Heartbreaking. And puts things in perspective.
Boy, if THAT doesn’t put things in perspective, I don’t know what will. How can we possibly turn a blind eye…how?
That’s the big question.
Smoking sure does relaxes oneself regardless of the situation.
Speechless..
i am overwhelmed by this. i looked at it for a very long time, taking it all in.
Is it something. Stopped me in my tracks this morning.
His turn table has an album on it. For a moment I could not move… not enough breath to take this in all at once.
Yes Carrie. I was locked in on that too. What a shot.
I wonder if he even knew the photographer was in the room?
Great question!
The image stands alone. Gives one a bit of perspective, no matter how humble our lives are elsewhere.
It does stand alone Bela.
Heartbreaking… One photograph and million things to talk… My humanity is overwhelmed, deeply hit me. Life on earth, how hard, how hard… Thank you, Love, nia
It’s horrible, but that room is still is only protection. It has to be fixed, but taking him out would be exile. Canada is welcoming the victims, but it will take time for them to be home. I feel sorry for them but express what sympathy I can. Canada will be not the parent’s but their children’s home.
Thanks for sharing Micheline.
A moving reminder David. Thank you!
Even amongst the chaos of this photo there is a silent calm within this man. Everything can be taken from someone, but they can’t take you soul. Moving. 🙏🏻
Agree Karen. Calm amidst the chaos is what pulled me into his world for a moment.
