I read One Day three years ago.
But The Line, this line, never left me.
The words would land softly, gently.
And my veins would pulse with Gratitude.
And then some days you wake up and everything’s perfect.
I turn the dial to 70’s on 7.
The Floaters with “Float on.”
The left foot begins to tap.
My body begins to sway, a rocking chair.
Take my hand, come with me, baby, to Love Land
Let me show you how sweet it could be
Sharing love with me, I want you to tell me
Float, float on (Come on, come on,
(Come on, baby, yeah, yeah)
Float on, float on (Ooh, ooh, baby)
Float, float, float on
Float on (Float with me), float on
I catch the chorus in time.
I’m murmuring along
I want you to tell me.
Take my Hand.
Float on, float on.
I pull into the parking lot.
I glance at my watch. 6:45 am.
I inhale deeply.
And pause before pulling the keys out of the ignition.
Float on. Float on.
The air leaks out the balloon.
My Heaven in the cockpit seeps away.
I grab my keys, and my case and head for the door.
It’s Game Time.

Turning off the ignition. Game time. No need not to continue floating on..
No chance to Float On at that stage…:)
I’m with Mim–why not try ‘floating on’ some Friday, see how it goes? Might be fun to mix it up. 🙂
Remember to be present. Take a deep breath and float on.
Oh my gosh that was fun! Love the tune. Driving and listening to music is one of my favorite simple pleasures.
Me too Brenda, thanks.

Oh, gawd. Baby-blue tuxedos and Prom. I’m floating…
Float on Sandy. Float on.
But at least you had a beautiful floating moment –
I did Beth. I did.
Oh, that you could take the balloon with you into the office, my friend!
What a dream-world that would be!
Floating on a Friday is a healthy practice, in and out of the office. Hope you had a good day, David.
Yes, I did Helen. Thank you. Have a great weekend.
