You can never have too much sky

blue-colors

You can never have too much sky.
You can fall asleep
and wake up drunk on sky,
and sky can keep you safe when you are sad.
Here there is too much sadness
and not enough sky.
Butterflies are too few
and so are flowers
and most things that are beautiful.
Still we take what we can get and make the best of it.

  1. and when you open your eyes wide, welcome it in, and soak it up, you will find you may need sunglasses to keep out all the bright.

    1. I want something else. I’m not even sure what to call it anymore except I know it feels roomy and it’s drenched in sunlight and it’s weightless.

  2. I love the colors and the whole collection..and what I love too..is that it’s not perfect. In other words, it’s not the little paint swatch from the store..it’s someones brushstrokes and I love the slightly askew nature about it… nice feeling to have on Friday.

  3. I was craving (this word better suits my condition at the moment) for few words like this, “and sky can keep you safe when you are sad.. Here there is too much sadness.. and not enough sky.” I feel like to speak out loud these words again and again. Thanks David!
