An aerial view from Ré Island (France – Atlantic Coast). “Surrounded by the waves of the Atlantic Ocean, yet anchored to the mainland by a bridge, the island ”Ile de Re” is a French seaside resort offering an incredibly vast array of landscapes, cultural traditions and isolated beaches. Located off La Rochelle, just southeast of Paris, the small island is blessed with a pleasantly mild micro-climate courtesy of the mitigating effect of the Gulf Stream. The island’s winds blowing from the west further help sweep the heavy clouds away, ultimately leading to lots of sunshine ideal for raising the spirit of residents and visitors who abundantly flock here every year.” (Source: Yahoo Voices)
Good Sunday Morning
It certainly raises my spirits!! What a gorgeous clip..
Mission accomplishments. Happy Sunday Mimi.
Lovely, and surprising…not the kind of imagery I associate with France… Happy Sunday, David! 🙂
I haven’t been to France so I’m not sure I follow as to the lack of association. But the lovely part, yes.
When I think France I think Paris, beautiful nighttime scenes, Arc de Triomphe, wineries in the Loire valley, lavender fields in Provence, that sort of thing, rather than beaches with surfers. But hey, ya learn something every day…. 🙂
ahhhh, ok, got it, thanks.
P.S. get thee to France, my friend, it’s a must! You haven’t loved til you’ve stood in The Louvre, looking the Mona Lisa in the eye or gazing up at the ethereal form of the Nike of Samothrace. And don’t get me started on the wine, cheese and bread. Sigh…..
Yes. I must. Period.
Nice clip, music too! Very peaceful.
It is…a Sunday morning feel.
The music on that was so achingly beautiful…wow, what a way to start a Sunday. Thanks David. 🙂
I thought so too Carol. Thanks.
Okay, David. What are you waiting for?
Laughing. Exactly. As they say: “If not now, when? If not you, who?”
Very relaxing – the ultimate summer chill-out video! 😀
I never viewed it as Summer Chill but it certainly is Suzy. Thanks.
Wonderful pictures, sparks lots of memories. Was looking for our house in St Martin! Beautiful.
Ahhhh, house in St Martin. How lucky. Thanks Adrian
