I think you’d have to be as beautiful as Audrey Hepburn was in the first place. Most of us don’t look like Audrey Hepburn, so there is likely not a whole of “aging gracefully” going on. Aging horribly…yes! There is a lot of that! 🙂
You ARE as beautiful as Audrey. What are you talking about?!
OMG, no way! When I reread my comment from yesterday…I realized it sounded a bit harsh. It’s just that our society is different today. People abuse their bodies in many different ways, through lack of exercise while we are glued to our computer screens and phones, and through the wrong types of food and too much food, or drugs, alcohol, and all of that. Aging is a part of life, no one can escape it, and we need to just accept it. But how can much grace appear on the surface in the aging process if the effects of a life of abuse become apparent (and they will through the years)…or if people use plastic surgery and other means to mask aging. That is what I meant by “aging horribly.” But with ALL of that said, I believe that true grace and beauty lie within the soul of a person. It is what we do with all that our life has become that will really matter.
Harsh? You were like a hungry wolf!
I better be more careful… 🙂
🙂
it is what I am trying to do
Then are you are on the path to enlightenment! 🙂
I winding path that has no turning
funny!
a winding path not I
Given her gorgeous wrinkles, it seems to me she is aging naturally, and that is a beautiful thing in my mind. I worry, however, about the unnatural aging that we will soon start to witness…
Ooops…she *aged* naturally, I lost track of time there for a sec!
Laughing. No unnatural aging. All meant to be. 🙂
Yes, all meant to be…I just wonder how the aging process will look among those who have tried so hard to unnaturally defy their aging…
It looks so bad on many. Period.
We all are beautiful in our own ways and I agree aging has its own charm & grace.
So Zen Sonia. What a flower child you are!
What a relief! Go Audrey!! Thanks for the reminder that it’s okay for a gal to be human David! Love it.
Debra
Thanks Debra. It certainly is.
For those who eschew aging, it happens nonetheless – we just can’t see it for the immoveable eyebrows and fillers that somehow make one look more simian instead of younger. For those with the grace and wisdom of Audrey – it happens too. It just somehow looks really fantastic on them.
And on you too!
Um…yeah…right…Promise me never to put your glasses on when looking at pics that include me.
🙂
Good point.
🙂
Obviously none of us like the wrinkles that inevitably work their way onto our faces over time, but they’re real and honest and to me they are a road map to a life that has been lived. Admittedly some get prettier maps than others–Sophia Loren springs to mind along with the elegant Ms. Hepburn–but hey, we all make our way in the best way we can. 🙂
Yes!

If only ~I~ could age as gracefully…
You will. No doubt about it. 🙂
It is a great question David. Perhaps, if we allow ourselves the opportunity, we can age gracefully.
As it is meant to be. I’m with you Ivon.
She’s not been brave enough to let the grey hairs show! I think if she’s going to dye her hair, she needs to go a few shades lighter, so it’s softer against her face. But 10 out of 10 for her not resorting to cosmetic surgery or botox.
Ahhhhhhh, nice catch….
