  1. That…is friggin hilarious.

The real clue to how to pronounce this word is contained in the movie title, “Synecdoche, New York.” Which is awesome, incidentally.

    1. Kamela, you kind soul. I knew that we were kindred spirits. I’m glad the first comment was squarely aligned with me. I loved it. And I laughed. (mostly at myself) And you’re going to have to let me in on the clue. I saw the movie. Don’t get the connection.

      1. The title is a pun on Schenectady, New York, which if you know how to pronounce (I’m from New Jersey, so I do ;), sounds like synecdoche. (Sin-EC-doh-kee, if your readers were wondering… 😉

  2. Laughing — Just a tad different from the fellow’s version on the free online dictionary. Definitely like this one better. 🙂 Listened to “How to Pronounce Cappuccino” and a few of the others as well…Too funny. Thanks for sharing, Dave.

  3. Great way to teach ESL – take our most ridiculously written words and pronounce them similarly. My understanding is that this was the genesis of these videos…TGIF..

  4. What? My head is exploding. I had to run to the definition to find out how to really say it, or that calm, evil voice would play in my head all day. Evil David, Evil.
