I’ve been following Manoli Rizo‘s photography blog for some time…admiring her work. I just loved her most recent post.
This man. His “herd.” The march in unison. His peace, pride and contentment.
Manoli, hats off to you. You’ve done it again.
Take a minute and hit this link and pan through Manoli’s photos of this man and his family. (And Foreign Language competency anyone? If someone could translate the intro of the post, I’d be grateful)

That’s so cool…great photos, and I love ducks. I’ve had them as pets before…so, I kind of understand that man’s peace, pride, and contentment. 🙂
Must have been a cool pet Carol…
I could not translate it. Tried Spanish, Portuguese, Italian. It looks Spanish and is definitely Latin based. If you get the translation let me know. -:)
Will do. I figured it anyone had the languages down, it would be you. 🙂
Did you check out his shoes?
No, but I did now. He is some sort of mystic I think. 🙂
I love his face – the affection that is captured on one shot in particular. And, I am happy to notice that his jacket and hat aren’t made of goose down.
Yes. And, please tell me that these are DUCKS and not geese. If I’m wrong, I will scramble to fix. Although “Zen Man and his Ducks” has a sweeter ring to it than “Zen Man and his Geese”, don’t you think?
‘Ducks’ sounds better – and I have no idea whether these are ducks or geese…
Such amazing photos, and Mimi’s right, the look on his face is transcendent! And his shoes, did you notice his shoes?! I think he’s a leprechaun! 🙂
Yes, just did. He doesn’t really look Irish. 🙂
Ducks always look lovely and funny both.
Yes, they do have that look Indira
Great link! Love the expressions on both Zen man and his flock.
Yes, his facial expression is one of bliss…
Loose translation? “This man was with his geese around the market, I was giving them orders obeyed, if andasen told them they walked, stopped them to stop them, they’d left, to the right, you should turn around, etc.. Incredible!, Of course we loved him, how bad was that they were about 14:40 pm and the sun was brutal, I could do more, he saw neither the photo on the screen after you take them, but I let them I hope you like it”. If you use Google Chrome, it detects the language and offers to translate the page. Works in a pinch. See here: http://www.screencast.com/t/8itXhtoFL
Thanks Todd. Appreciate it very much.
This is amazing that the ducks would gather around this man. Glad you reposted.
Yes, he is the Pied Piper of Ducks. 🙂
Here’s a great video of the same event: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGn_rH7LejI
Similar theme. But I believe a different ring leader…
ah, just wonderful!! thanks for the smile. 🙂
🙂 Yes, it does generate the smiles. Thanks.
Muchícimas gracias por su reglog, me alegra saber que te ha gustado, besos
All YOU Manoli. Thank you.
I love his expression. And the other images from the post are wonderful.
I was looking something else up and remembered your request for a translation — If you go to this link, you can see the site with translation. Some of the word order’s a little funny, but I think the basic gist is probably there.
Thanks Sandy. Appreciate it.
I love the man’s expression also. He looks so pleased!
Yes Mary. Pleased and proud of his tribe… 🙂
