“I hand drew every frame of this using Microns and composited them onto brown paper.” (HE HAND DREW “EVERY” FRAME…)
“The goal was to capture the energy and fluidity that goes into the sport of basketball.” (And boy, did he accomplish this beautifully…)
This time slot on on Saturdays is customarily reserved for running shoe company ads, bangin’ music and related clips for work-out inspiration. Not this time. In a minute and a half, Eric Funk inspires us to move with his art.

This is truly amazing!! I’ve watched it twice already..Just beautiful!
Completely agree. When I first saw it, I was locked in trance-mode. What incredible talent.
Incredible! I was completely mesmerized and I’m not even a sports fan! The artist made me look at basketball through a new lenses–no mean feat–and realize that there is a certain grace to the game. Thx for sharing David!
That’s it Lori. Grace is the word.
Cool.

That was awesome ~ I had to watch it twice!
I agree. What talent this man has…
Hand drawn…unbelievable!! I had troubles just drawing a circle yesterday.
It is unbelievable. And me too – can’t beyond stickman.
Very cool…thanks David!
Wow, amazing! I wonder how long it took him to create this?
I could start now and never finish or do this. Good question Tina.
Awesome. Vimeo seems to contain great talent, which is why I prefer them over YouTube.
Yes Alex. Vimeo has exceptional videos…
Music to my ears and eyes. Beautiful movement – and the sound of the bouncing ball in the gym over the soundtrack will forever bring back memories of hundreds of hours watching the kids play basketball (those years are almost – not quite – over).
Too bad today is a rest day – or I’d lace up and run as gracefully as I can.
Yes, it was “beautiful movement.” How he managed to transport us to this place, it some sort of special talent.
A lot of talent and a lot of hard work to produce that artwork.
I can only imagine…
Wow — Eric’s animation is the stuff of my dreams. Thanks for the inspiration Dave!
You are closing in Sandy…:)
Incredible, just amazing. I kept thinking, all through the second! watching, he drew every frame, and then trying to see where one frame ended and the next began, and that I couldn’t made it only that much more mesmerizing. I’m heading out for a run in a bit, and this is coming with me in my mind [and hopefully my feet…].
Yes, it was mesmerizing Bonnie. Glad that this clip will be going with you. That was the objective for my Saturday Work-out inspiration.
Truly amazing.
