  1. Smiling… I am going to save these words as a Quotation of yours as I keep a list of my favorites with me.

  2. And? You’re still the same guy – now you selectively share a few thoughts which have proved to inspire and delight an impressively sized audience of devotees. But you still hold back my friend – there’s a big part of David that is withheld from everyone except his family and inner circle. You just have this incredible talent to make everyone feel enveloped in your orbit – and we are. Perhaps like a ring of Saturn (though you have way more charm and brilliance than Saturn – I mean other than it’s ring, it has no claim to fame. You on the other hand amaze, inform, inspire, delight…etc).

  3. David,

We’re all thrilled that you’re so not balanced in that sense. And privacy? that horse left the barn for all of us here a while back.

Thanks for all your great posts.

    Tom

  4. David, I like this post a lot. It reminds me this is a journey and needs a mindful approach. What does it mean to blog or, for that matter use any social medium, in a mindful manner. It is what I will be looking at, I think, for my doctoral dissertation. What does privacy mean? What does a virtual community look like and what qualities does it share with any other community? You posed a set of thought-provoking questions with your post and all in good humour.

    Take care,

    Ivon

    1. Thank you Ivon. I think your dissertation is on a very important and timely topic. Good luck with it. And perhaps you can let us in on your work in a future blog post.

  5. David, I really enjoyed this blog. With good humour, you opened up a topic that has underlying and provocative questions. I am looking at the roles of technology and social media in our lives as my dissertation topic.

Thank you for a great blog that asks questions of us. What does privacy look like in a digital community? And, what unique qualities does a virtual community have and share with a ‘traditional’ community? Our choices and uses of technology require mindful approaches and your post today challenges me to think about my choices and uses.

    Take care,

    IVon

  6. Reblogged this on Teacher as Transformer and commented:
It has been awhile since I reblogged a post, but I could not resist this one. David poses a tongue-in-cheek view of an emerging digital world. What are the implications? What are the unique qualities of community in the virtual world and which qualities do they share with traditional communities? I am looking at this as a topic area for my dissertation so this is humourous and thought-provoking.

  7. Oh honey I never was. Quiet or well-balanced. I’ve always been outspoken. This is a better place for it though. I find more people agree than disagree with my tirades.
