Inspired this morning by the “Phenomenal Women Empowerment Alliance” group. 5:50 to to 6:20 am. August 25, 2024. Cove Island Park, Stamford, CT. Thank you Sabrina and Friends. See more pictures of the Women Empowerment Alliance group here. And amazing sunrise scenes here.
how amazing – they know a powerful place when they see it, just as you did, dk
So true Beth. And it was a powerful and inspiring image….d
Great work by the group and that’s called women’s empowerment. 🙂
Yes!
Wait, how did you find out what group they are?
You talked to one of them?
Wow Sawsan. So sneaky and underhanded. Invisible hand at work here?
You know exactly what happened.
LAUGHING…
He sent you?
Right. But how would Sawsan have known? HMMMM.
The one thing I was certain of is that you didn’t go introduce yourself and ask. As to who went and found out, the little bird told me.
Right.
You saw this coming less than 24 hours ago! Tje shoe dropping…
just quickly ‘overflew’ their manifesto. impressive, powerful, rings true and authentic. met a lot of ‘powerful’ African women in my years in France. Sometimes their demeanour was hard to ‘swallow’ – so self-assured, so full of their ‘this is me’ in a country full of narcissistic men, everyone a ‘Napoleon’…. but of course, I also saw terrible ‘backgrounds’, visual, spiritual poverty, an aching to be ‘just like any French’ (but with hardly an ability to read, understand a document, low paid work, etc) – so I salute all the sisterhoods there are. Did I get that right; they were at the place you usually are? That must have been a powerful experience, also for you as a male. Did you feel overwhelmed?
Hi Kiki. 1) In the 1500+ days I have never seen this group at the Park. 2) It was a moving experience for me. (Very) 3) Did I feel overwhelmed? Yes. (But that’s a low bar. I get overwhelmed walking out the front door.) 4) I too salute the sisterhoods. Beautiful vision that won’t leave me for some time. Have a good Sunday. Dave
a extra hurrah for you – for getting overwhelmed just by walking out the door…. made me smile!
These are great pictures! Kind of reminds me of… https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxXKEEpMmaYs46tKDPVoOvzTk-j2-BYv0S?si=keUcWu4LRegb49gU
Thanks Carrie. What a moving clip! Thanks for sharing!
have you ever seen ‘O brother where Art thou’? I clipped the funny parts. When I teach about baptism, I often use this full clip. If you haven’t seen it, you might go to “O brother, where thou? – down in the river”. It will show all of it. Otherwise, you can write it off as “priest’s humor”.:)
I have seen it Carrie, and loved it!
I love these pictures David. I’ll check out the links. Take care, Julian
Thanks Julian!
