Here comes the Sun…

Watch the Sun come up this morning at Cove Island Park with an awesome Grand Finale here.

  1. THERE (a beautiful sunrise) is our reason for doing whatever we can to make the world “just a little bit better” within our own tiny sphere of influence. Looks like a great way to start the day, and an excellent example of focusing on and appreciating “the present moment”! Dwelling on the negative things that we cannot control is a futile exercise that results in depression.

We need to focus on appreciating the present moment… REALLY focus on that and not get overwhelmed by “global events”.

Wally was born genetically perfect in this regard. “The present moment” is the only thing he is wired to pay attention to. We watch the news… Wally takes a nap… Wally wins! #LearnFromWally

    1. Ignoring any debate about religion, one of my favorite pieces of wisdom is the simple lesson that I have to review over and over again to stay on track…

That piece of wisdom comes from “The Serenity Prayer”…

“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, The courage to change the things I can, And the wisdom to know the difference.”

I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!

        1. Re: “Well, I don’t want to accept the things I cannot change; I don’t want to be happy with a f****** half glass of anything.”

You make an excellent point Dave. Come to think of it, what is the definition of “something I cannot change”? Many people grow and increase the number of things that they CAN change.

If you feel like running for public office, you have my vote! (Although it may be far more effective to avoid public office/politics completely and take matters into our own hands.)

  2. There is no reasonable response that doesn’t hold the “but”…but this morning wakes with renewed enthusiasm; designed to impress; but I cuddled up with Wally and felt a moment’s peace; but my kids, my wife are thriving; but, but…I’m writing and receiving thoughtful feedback from so many; but these are the moments in between, and tho’ they solve nothing..in these moments, I’m ok. Now back to our unfortunately scheduled agita.
