Some day I will figure out how to edit videos. Meanwhile, here’s DK’s Rough Cut of the Sunrise at Spruce Swamp Pond adjacent to Calf Pasture Beach, Norwalk, CT. More photos from this morning’s walk here.
I can't sleep…

The video could not be more peaceful! Lovely (and peaceful) other photos as well. 🤗
Thank you!
Au contraire, thank YOU. 🙂
Stunning! Thanks.
Thank you!
Beautiful! Is Walter in your back pack or is he sleeping in this morning?
Walter hasn’t taken kindly to the cold. We’re on the hunt for a sweater. Walter was in bed with his Mom this morning.
I’m looking forward to that photo-op!
Ok!!!!
really pretty
Thank you Beth.
That video is so beautiful… what part would you want to edit?
Thanks Dale. The light pole on the left. And perhaps the hut…
Nahhh… next time just crop before you film 😉 This is natural and until you mentioned it, I didn’t notice either. I focused on that beautifully lit moving fog…
but how can you crop it out when every second of the video is positioned in the same spot?
Before you start filming, do you not adjust your zoom? And I’m sure you could have moved just a smidge and cut them out of your frame and still gotten the beautiful light.
But honestly, you fret over nothing. It’s a beautiful video.
awww, got it. too late now but you raise an excellent point. Thanks for the tip. it’s only my 2nd video. i need to figure it out.
Honestly, you are being way harder on yourself than any of us feel you should!! I love the naturalness of it. You saw, you pointed, you filmed. 🙂
Thanks Dale.
This is by far the most beautiful thing I’ve seen in a very long time.
“We do not truly see light, we only see slower things lit by it, so that for us light is on the edge—the last thing we know before things become too swift for us.”
~ C.S. Lewis
Awwwww. And LOVE the C.S. Lewis quote!
Peaceful video. Walter! (I’m smiling). I can just picture him looking like a Walter some time from now. It’s a very grown up name and he will grow into it nicely. Just now, when he looks so young, Walter seems to be a bit serious – like SIR Walter. But I think I like it. He’s so adorable no matter what you call him, and he deserves a noble name like Walter.
Thanks Anneli. He’s been a good boy (so far!)
I’m sure he’ll be perfect, especially since he thinks he’s human.
Laughing. So true.
We thank you for such a beautiful, interlude on our 40th wedding anniversary!!!

Wonderful. Thanks for sharing Christie.
This was lovely, pal. I immediately thought of those gorgeous closing clips they show at the end of ‘CBS Sunday Morning’ to center you and send you peacefully into your day. That did this for me. 💕
Thanks Lori. So interesting you raised Sunday Morning. That’s EXACTLY what I was thinking standing there taking the video!
Kismet!
Love that word! Banked!
You need to edit that mind!! This is beautiful DK. Perfect! As nature always is 🙏🏻
Thank you Karen! I do!
WOW!!
P.S. catching up on posts, sorry for the spam 😁
Keep it coming!
That’s just perfect. I feel the peace of this precious moment. I take plenty of similar mini videos at ‘my” small lake. Alas, not of the early mornings, but sunset. Snippets of a beautiful day. Giving me peace and a quiet joy.
Good for you Kiki. There’s Peace in these moments.
