9/13/42. The most spiritual and “beautiful” literature has already been written—in the Bible, in the Greek dramas, in their philosophies. What we have to attain is at best the material representation, a poor substitute for the eternities we cannot logically hope to emulate. Spirituality in our day is as difficult to attain as a pair of wings and a halo.

and yet, we can find it in the moments if we are open to seeing them
Truth!
Another one to get it right ‘just so’…. (see Beth’s post today – you two are masters in finding the exactly right quote to any pix).
I have tons of ‘lonely’ birds in the sky and yet, I’m still very much touched by yet another one. I love this silent beautiful creature up in the early morning sky. And if you ever should choose to put your F-degrees into Celsius, I’d appreciate that very much too…. 😉 (just saying)
Thank you Kiki. Let me think about that C⁰!
Pls do! I’d really be much more able to feel sorry for you if I had the temps in C…. 😉
Ok. Done!
I don’t know, pal – your picture come awfully close…
Awwwww
WMS…🥰
The wings come when we give up literalist readings of the Bible, the Greek tragedies, etc. and welcome them for what they are: stories of what never happened, but is always happening in timer. Not sure about the halo! 👀🤫🍸
Smiling. Halo is always there for the kind.
Your wonderful photo (and Patricia’s musing) has put me in mind of Jonathan Livingston Seagull; what a shame she missed reading of his seeking/soaring.. 🙂
Thank you! And agree. His soaring would lift us all.
16* seems lonely and cold…but this beautiful soaring creature is neither…hmm, that ‘s the way to be!
It is!!!!
