Compared to the alternate realities that could have happened, how can I want for anything more in this one?

OMG, what a choice this is (again!)
I however was immediately captured by Dürer’s biography – you just let that ONE sentence melt in your mouth:
“Hoare writes with the license of the nonexpert; you can feel the delight he takes in being unbound by anything but his enthusiasms,”.
And you’re hooked….. or aren’t you?
Or the book, ready and unpublished since the 1940th (that’s NINETEENFORTIES, guys) on a black young man who hid in sewers for fear of losing his life for a murder he didn’t commit. What a statement this is:
….Richard Wright recognized that understanding Black folks’ relationship to the police is central to understanding racism…
And so much more – including a promise of ‘best liked books by famous authors’, such as Celeste Ng, Ann Patchett, Min Jin Lee and Others on the Books That Bring Them Comfort…. which I couldn’t access as I have no subscription. I LOVE Ann Patchett, Celeste Ng!!!!
