In the darkness he was looking sideways at me. I said nothing for a moment; there had seemed to be some special emphasis on the last sentence.
‘Is this also what you meant by being psychic?’ ‘
It is what I mean by hazard. There comes a time in each life like a point of fulcrum. At that time you must accept yourself. It is not any more what you will become. It is what you are and always will be. You are too young to know this. You are still becoming. Not being.’
‘Perhaps.’
‘Not perhaps. For certain.’
‘What happens if one doesn’t recognize the… point of fulcrum?’ …
‘You will be like the many. Only the few recognize this moment. And act on it.’
‘The elect?’
‘The elect.’

ah, interesting, my blog today was also about acceptance and the act of embracing ourselves and who we really are –

Two outstanding finds, the photograph and the excerpt. I love them both.
I can see this image as a charcoal drawing – low key and velvet dark in front, pigment smoothed deep into the paper’s grooves.
Accepting our selves, calls for reflection and raw assessment. Mercy, and then resolve. None of the things that are super trendy, super fast, or ‘fun’ to do. Point of Fulcrum, indeed. Wonderful selection for today DK.

This morning. Head downcast. Not looking at reflection in mirror. A “mercy” moment: a resolve to forgive what might have been but isn’t and accept what is. Finally. Really…finally.
This morning.
Every morning.

That’s it, acceptance of what we already are and will always be. Once we say yes to that truth, we are free. 💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼 Love this

Being vs. still becoming…and yet, I feel like many of us are “still becoming” even still. It is one of the reasons I loved working with young people…we learned so much from each other.

Yes. Me too Van. And I don’t think I’ll ever stop becoming.

That gave me chills. I need to explore why. Thanks for today’s journal prompt. I think.

What Debi said and I’ll add that one must forgive them-self and forgive others and continue on as a work in progress…

So many are still becoming, not being – and long after it is necessary for survival in this world.
