8:45 a.m., September 11, 2001: A hijacked passenger jet, American Airlines Flight 11 out of Boston, Massachusetts, crashes into the north tower of the World Trade Center, tearing a gaping hole in the building and setting it afire.

Notes:

  • DK Notable: …And at 8:45 am today, September 11, 2017, I’m 34,000 feet up on Delta 5898. A few minutes earlier, the pilot comes on the intercom: “There’s heavy turbulence above us and below us but we’ve seemed to tuck in a quiet sleeve here in between – let’s hope this continues. Please buckle up.”

  6. I reflect on September 11th 2001, as well as your recent post on the Memorial that your children visited…and I wonder what reflections cast from the sky above rest, momentarily in the Twin Reflection Pool, today…It would be wonderful, if some Morning Doves, fly low, over the Twin Pool to represent a Moment of Peace.and that Peace is Needed in this World…

  11. i’ve written and rewritten this one so many times I think I’ve just about ruined it with the edits. I cant tell. Anywhere I improved it I also manged to hurt it. So I’ll link the first draft. I’d like to think my writing has gotten better. Maybe its my editing that needs improvement.

  15. May we never forget. Both the evil deeds of that day, nor the heroic sacrifices; which most nearly equal that which took place on a hill some two thousand years before.
