Every time I hear a political speech or I read those of our leaders, I am horrified at having, for years, heard nothing which sounded human. It is always the same words telling the same lies. And the fact that men accept this, that the people’s anger has not destroyed these hollow clowns, strikes me as proof that men attribute no importance to the way they are governed […]”

CAN YOU HEAR THE RUMBLING
By: Patricia Salamone
Can you hear the rumbling? If you listen close you might. Can you see despair and poverty? It is an awful sight! Can you hear the children crying out in pain? Can you see their faces as they’re calling out in vain?
Each day you line your pockets. Is that your only goal? Is human life so meaningless you let degradation take its toll? Do you see how …you are destroying the only world which we know? We trusted you to lead us and this is all you have to show?
You keep your little circle tight, with nothing but the best. Once this world is finished, you’ll go down with all the rest. Promises you made mean nothing any more. You will say anything you need to get you in the door.
If you think we’re not aware of what is coming down. If you think this can go on, you really are a clown. Quietly we gather; one by one we come. Silently we move while all of you are having fun.
We are tired of your grabbing, and never giving back. We are angry you’ve betrayed us. We are about to crack. You have lost sight of what you’re there for; to lead, and not to take. Your Greed has taken flight, your Pride, a big mistake.
Can you hear the rumbling? If you listen close you might
Powerful. Especially liked: ” You have lost sight of what you’re there for; to lead, and not to take.”

Not a thing has changed … from the 30’s-40’s! What does that say?
I lived during that time. You might be interested in my blog on Do I Really Have a Choice? Times change; human nature does not.
I’m now a follower. Thank you. I’m off to check it out.
It has taken about five decades, but the fabric of this country(USA) has changed almost to the point of being irreversible. Tradition has been left in the past and is considered a thing that has served its purpose in an evolutionary process of progress. However, as we look back we can see that we have left the best of what we are behind. Much of this mutation of American culture, based on theory and not fact, has primarily been accomplished by a manipulative redefinition of the family structure. A stable family structure has always been necessary for a stable society and Government. History has shown this to be true. The public schools and a majority of institutes of higher learning have been instrumental in indoctrinating its student during this period of time to a way of thinking that has limited resistance thereby making it easier to put in play a vision of America that would be unrecognizable to its founders. The indifference of common sense Americans to this metamorphosis of culture, which has allowed the disfigurement of the American identity, can be attributed to the onslaught of political correctness, And now we are where we are.
G.K. Chesterton said: “Politics has not been poisoned, it is poisonous.”

Let’s focus on Family and fixing schools and we’d all be much better off. Agree with you Alan.
Pretty much nails it and highlights how nothing has change or will change.
Agree!
Fine posts, good blog.

Thank you. Will do.
Welcome
Every time someone goes on about the good old days, or how horrible things have gotten, I think about quotes like this. Really, my life has changed very little no matter who was in office. Most of my problems are local (pointing to head). And throughout the world and here in America most people live vastly better lives than they ever did.
100% agree Steve. Thanks.
Hmmm….1942 ? Are you sure ? ☺

Thanks, Christie. It was more sarcasm than fact-challenging. ☺
Initially, I thought you weren’t familiar with Albert Camus…hit send and then. oh me slow on the uptake, it dawned…sarcasm. I am such a work in progress…forgive me?
