When I travelled to Denmark last January the Faroe Islands were somewhere I thought I’d like to see. Thank You for this video, David; I feel somewhat satisfied now.
Oh, so cold. The waterfall falling? upwards was amazing. 🙂

You’ve been to the Faroe Islands, wow, on my bucket list. Glad you enjoyed it Carolyn.

I didn’t articulate very well, David…!
No, I haven’t been to the Faroe Islands. It was something I would have loved to do; though, didn’t have the time, nor the opportunity. Having now seen that brilliant video I now feel as though I have, at least, a small appreciation of what I believe would be a magnificent thing to do. (Talking in shorthand, as we (I) am apt to do can cause communication breakdown.) 🙂
Great post…

Awwwww, to have gone in your mind is equally a wonderful journey! 🙂

Carolyn, I also loved the waterfall being swept up! Ever since I was a young girl I have loved waterfalls…I am fortunate to see many every year, as I travel…some waterfalls would be considered in my neck of the woods 🙂

That’s a long time to be away from family! He does amazing work, but I think there is a price to pay.

It is, I couldn’t do it but glad some can so we can enjoy the shots.

Yes I agree ☀️

I’m sure he’s seen some wonderful things.

Shivers up my spine.
Love how he said “Eventually, I’m still young.”

Yes, caught that. Beautiful short film. Love to see the passion he has for his work.

The Faroe Islands have been on my radar for a while, now…It was a treat to watch the video…as I watched I thought of your Eric, and his recent trip to Iceland…what an enriching experience he had.// Recently we met through a friend a well published photographer and travel writer. Our schedules were tight and we’d all planned on get together later that evening, just didn’t work out…we were glad to have met him and we did have about a half an hour with him, earlier in the day. // One of my girlfriends early 20’s son is an up and coming photographer, nationally…// I’ve always thought that photo-journalism is an interesting profession…as is being a documentary film maker…// It is clear that Lars Schneider has a gift and a passion…and I am grateful that you treated us to an introduction, of yet another enriching person…Thank you…Kindly, Christie

Thank you Christie. This same video reminded me of my Eric’s journey to Iceland too. Kind of you to remember.

“I love being away. I need it to be who I am”. Fascinating take-away from this beautiful piece. ❤️

Loved this short film. He’s following his passion, and yet to do so he must be away from those he loves most for significant amounts of time. No free lunch….

Yes, and the photos, wow.

passion play.

Did he really say that he is away from his family about half the year??? And that he loves being away? Hmmmm.

I heard the former. I missed the latter. Will have to go back and listen. (Of course, Queen of Darkness would find that in all of the beauty) 🙂

Queen of Darkness? lol I’m just being real. He sounds a little tiny bit selfish, going off and leaving mom to take care of the kids while he has total peace and solitude.

I thought at first that he’d found a nice balance in his work between the fast, thousands-of-images assignments and the long, slow landscape pieces. But the bit about being away from his family for so long… he’s still got some scales to even out.
Lucky, brave, talented man 💛
Yes, to all.
