[…] The room is dark,
and the light is on her (Dr. Wendy Fried’s) face.
I see her eyes, moving around,
like she’s panicking.
I felt the blood draining out of my face.
My lips got cold.
“I’m so sorry, Eleni,” she said. […]
I barely got my words out, asking,
“What do you mean?”

chilling feelings
She describes it perfectly. Same story, different circumstances. Hospital’s around the world, really need to update their understanding on this sensitive subject. Parents who experience this tragic loss need to train the staff. .
I read and watched this heartbreaking story. No words.
No words. That’s it Julie.
Just can’t bring myself to hit the ‘like’ button, DK, it’s just so very sad. This woman is so brave for sharing her story with others…I hope that she and her husband are able to have another child one day and the story ends much differently….
Heartbreaking, yet beautiful. She gives this sadness a voice.
So heartbreaking yet so much perspective
Dear god ….
No words just sadness and loss.
Exactly
this is so powerful and sad. someone in my family has had this experience and it never goes away.
I can’t imagine. I was so overly her words.
Something similar happened to me…when Cody was just a baby and we had taken him to the emergency room. It was the first time he had been sick and after being up all night long with him, walking, walking, walking…we took him to the hospital. When a nurse came out and put her arms around me…I knew too that something horrible was wrong. That is when they told me that my baby had Type 1 diabetes…and life changed forever after.
Wow. I’m grateful for the so much better outcome.
