Wow, after being in an enclosed small plane (YES that fantasy island thing again) I can honestly say, Im may not go in a Helicopter, but the view is simple amazing!
Wow, you just won’t let that Fiji thing go. I’m glad I could pull you away for a moment to see this….and yes, I’m with you. Not excited about choppers and hanging over the edge to get a shot.
Can you just be patient with me? Honestly its only been a week or two …or three ha!!
Wow. Talk about dog on a bone. Or better yet, try this:
I’m trying to come to the point.
I refuse to give up my obsession.

Laughing! Ok enough said, I will get some therapy and move on….
I’m NOT suggesting THAT (not directly anyway)
Just lovely.
It really is…
awe-some
My whole body is tensing and my mind is blown away…. I need medication … I mean meditation 😉
Smiling. I had the same reaction Val. Same.
Oh, wow! I’d hang out from a chopper to get shots like these! Loved them!
Agree on the Wow front Helen. As to hangin’ out the door, that’s where we depart.
I don’t think one needs to “hang out” literally, just the head, the arm and the camera 🙂
Reblogged this on It Is What It Is and commented:
Awesome view!!
Yes!
This is very very cool Horti!
wow oh wow…phenomenal shots!! Brave man…I could NEVER do that!
Laughing. I couldn’t take the shot (lack skill) and wouldn’t hang out the door (acrophobia)
WOW!
Exactly!
Years ago, I was doing aerial geological reconnaissance in the Southern Colorado Rockies. Actually, I remember the date since it was my birthday on Sept. 27, 1979. I kept asking the helicopter pilot to fly higher & higher while leaning-out the door and taking photographs. Finally, he clicked into the intercom that he couldn’t fly any higher. “Well how high are we?” I asked. “We’re at a little over 19,000 ft.” And then I realized that I was almost a mile above Sierra Blanca which rises to 14,351 ft on Blanca Peak. I was overwhelmed by the beauty of the mountain at the southern terminus in the Sangre de Cristo Range. The Culebra Range of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains extended on far to the South into New Mexico. Although I’ve lived in Paris & Vienna since then and worked 15 years in Europe, my thoughts always go back to the beautiful, lone, solitary mountain, leaning out of a helicopter at the maximum ceiling of the craft. Allen Ginsberg would have said of that, “Just another Reality Sandwich, Dan.” And then we’d sing Blake.
LOVE this story Dan. Incredible. Thanks so much for sharing.
wow –
I have that dual feeling of excited adrenalin and nauseous fear just looking at these photos. They’re spectacular!
Smiling. So true!
Breathtaking. Would love to be up in a helicopter over the city, though don’t know that I’d be hanging out the door…
In total agreement Lori. On all three points.
Where do I sign up?!?
We’ll send you an invitation.
