Oh No. She’s right.

polar-bear-funny

A whole lot of us go through life assuming that we are basically right, basically all the time, about basically everything: about our political and intellectual convictions, our religious and moral beliefs, our assessment of other people, our memories, our grasp of facts. As absurd as it sounds when we stop to think about it, our steady state seems to be one of unconsciously assuming that we are very close to omniscient.

  1. people think their path is right always but they don’t know the subtle difference between being right and arrogant, Such people tend to chain themselves by judging others wrong all the time no matter what.

  2. Actually, I’m not sure that everybody assumes this. It’s a bit like when vicars stand in pulpits and they make some sweeping statement about us all being capable of falling for various temptations or other, or doing something really evil when pushed, but it’s just a generalisation and I find myself wanting to say “speak for yourself”. Nobody is perfect, but no two people are exactly the same.

PS Sorry, Dave, I’m not trying to be argumentative here. And who knows what’s going on in my subconscious? Perhaps I’m in denial of my true self — the one that thinks itself omniscient 😉

  3. I don’t even try to be right any more because someone’s always around to contradict. I bite my tongue and smile. Is that right?

  4. ROFL. If I agree with you we would both be wrong. 😉
