I wonder if the sap is stirring yet,
If wintry birds are dreaming of a mate,
If frozen snowdrops feel as yet the sun
And crocus fires are kindling one by one:
Sing robin, sing:
I still am sore in doubt concerning Spring.

With more snow en route, I too am wondering about spring’s arrival. But it is the intrepid quality of the bird’s song, the inexorable, inevitable budding on the trees that assures me it’s so.
No way there is more snow en route. No way.
Yup – seven-eight inches on the ground and still falling. UGH. UGH. UGH.
Perfect poem and picture.
Tis’ the season…thanks.
c’mon robin, do it for all of us ) please.
Yes, we beggin’ now.
With temps is the low 20s and a stiff wind bringing the wind chills to the teens, I must confess that I’m also a bit in doubt of spring’s arrival, but it HAS to come, right? Also couldn’t resist sharing a ‘fun fact:’ One of Christina’s brothers was the painter Dante Gabriel Rosetti, founder of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. Did some very intriguing work. Whew! Those art history degrees weren’t all for naught after all! 😉
Oh, I love Rosetti’s work! I’ve got on on my wall!
I, too, love his work Sandy. His favorite model and muse, Jo, with that gorgeous red hair….
Wow, had no idea. Good thing you circle around here Lori to add depth to this show.
Blushing….thanks for the compliment, pal, but trust me, you got this covered…
What a fantastic picture. So full of joy and life. Beautiful.
It is….thanks.
Spring has sprung, the grass has ‘ris, I wonder where the birdie is.
Laughing. LOVE IT.
With a fresh inch of snow on our just-showing ground, there does linger a bit of doubt!
Wow, 1″ of snow. I won’t complain.
Lovely little verse full of wry humour.
It is. And written over 100 years ago. Some things don’t change.
That beautiful bird, in full song, brings spring to you.
It does. She is beautiful.
Spring has arrived in the Pacific Northwest, Washington yeh! Love this one, great job as usual David.
Good for you Melody. Thank you.
You are most welcome David! Hope things are going great in your life. We are so excited as we are moving to flat 20 acres in Sequim this spring selling our five acre farm. More sunshine less rain in Sequim and we have a view of Hurricane Ridge. So many memories on this mountain. I am a native of Western Washington. Nice to read your blog again, I have been a bit busy 🙂 Pain is controlled and I am grateful to GOD for that. Update we have 1 mammoth donkey, 2 horses, 2 mini donkeys and 2 standard donkeys. 7 equine 🙂 Very exciting….
Wow Melody. Sounds like paradise (ex-the pain)…

It really is Scott. 🙂 You’ll have time to catch your own, I’m confident of that.
