Oh, Vancouver

The Rainblossom Project:

Reflected in a puddle of melted snow, people and dogs walk past umbrellas suspended from trees at Spanish Banks Beach in Vancouver, British Columbia. The art installation, called the “Rainblossom Project”, was put up by an anonymous group to be a celebration of the rain the city receives.

  1. This is beautiful! Christo also wrapped islands in Miami with pink cloth. It was controversial at the time, though also beautiful.

  2. This makes my little heart happy. I love the whimsical feel and that it’s an art installation that I actually get. The pictures are beautiful; I wish I could see this in person. Thank you for sharing!

  3. So true about the umbrellas in Vancouver. Same weather applies on Vancouver Island but, not being in the city, we wear hooded jackets, leaving our hands free to do useful things.
