I added two new books to my collection this past December and every now and then I glance over at them on my shelf and literally think “i cant wait to read that book..eventually” don’t know why.

i have a heaping pile by my bedside. and i find it somehow comforting.

You have some mind. I see my pile – anxiety soars. Why did I buy them if I wasn’t going to read them? Why don’t you move them out of sight? and on and on and on. Shinto, spread the secret sauce.

i just see them differently. instead of seeing them as a mountain i need to climb, and things to be worried and guilty about, or avoided, or regretting, or hiding from myself, i see them as all kinds of flowers, nearby me, on the roadside, just quiet and beautiful, and patiently waiting to be picked. and when i open them at last, i know i will enjoy their scent and their color even more.
