What are the 12 Days of Christmas?

12-Days-of-Christmas, Doug McKenzie, Bob McKenzie

If you are Canadian and happened to grow up in the dinosaur era with me, Bob & Doug McKenzie were “rock stars” with their rendition of the Twelve Days of Christmas.  They could have used the handy teaching guide above to get the days straight.  Here we go in our juvenile race to the bottom…and be sure to belt out Kielbasa after 5 Golden Rings, the Kanigan boys edited version. (5 Golden Rings of Kielbasa!)  Such beautiful typography, marred with this…

(The jingle starts at 1.35 min of this clip.)

    • About time my fellow Canadian fans came out of the woodwork. I would urge you not to disclose to your followers of Another Lovely Day, that you are actually a fan of this stuff. Followers would start dropping like rocks and you’ll pollute the your well of gentle, beauty and kindness. 🙂

      • sigh — Are you saying that I shouldn’t post the YouTube link for Bob and Doug’s single, “Take Off,” as my topic of the day?

“Okay, everyone, like this is me on the drums!”
        “Oh, get out!”

        Ah, well . . . 🙂

    • OMG, do to you see how much culture you have missed? And it also accounts for your stable and quiet mind and ability to get so much done. (Take out the trash and leave it in the can). Meanwhile, I’m regurgitating this…

  8. Actually, heard it while listening to the SIRIUS 80’s channel in Arizona last weekend. My Hilarious…my brothers and I loved Great White North and Strange Brew. Classic Max Von Sydow. Though my mother did not think it was too funny when we tried to paint a stripe down the back of our Cocker Spaniel and call him “Hoser” when we were kids. Ahhh, the memories…

  9. I still like Jeff Foxworthy’s version of “12 Days of Christmas”. Any song that includes: big mud tires, flannel shirts, and hunting dogs, is sure to get a chuckle of out anyone!
