“Music has always been a matter of Energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it Inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed Fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio.”
~ Hunter S. Thompson (via theglasschild)
Here’s Josh Groban & Brian McKnight with some of my fuel this morning – in their beautiful rendition of “Bridge Over Troubled Water” …I just need to find a way to join Hunter Thompson for a 50 mile ride on the Pacific Coast Highway…

Mmmm. Great post. Love the whole idea of it – and the title – and I hadn’t heard that rendition of “Bridge.” Heartwarming.
No one’s commented yet on how music makes you speed down the highway. You think you’re contentedly listening to Barber’s Violin Concerto and before you know it you’re going WAAAAAAY faster than you should be. (Go ahead Dave, hit me with your best shot for that one!)

Wow. This in on a 6 inch tee (golfer term for easy one). A piano teacher listening to classical musical who is speeding. What’s the term for this? Non sequitur?

And on my way to a piano teachers’ conference, no less. Had to look up non sequiter. Am I smashing your stereotypes?

An absolutely great post and uplifting music to start October! Music fuels my energy, calms my nerves, brightens my souls, and when playing to or with others, it is a great way to communicate and have fun!

So, so true–music is definitely one of my most used ‘consumables.’ And these two are a couple of my favorite singers… 🙂
