Come outside, you laugh. You are
standing on the lawn holding
a bag of shit and the dog leash. You say
look, look at the moon. And I do.

and how could you not?
Exactly.
And how familiar is this visual (and reality if one is a dog owner)
That’s me every day! 🐶🐶
Right!
The things we would miss if it weren’t for our dogs.
Exactly right!
awesome
Thank you Melinda.
La Luna’s majestic beauty trumps everything….even dog 💩.
Almost trumps Wally!
I don’t miss those nights…
I bet you don’t.
I miss having Zeke but not having a dog, if that makes any sense.
Totally get it.
It doesn’t matter what you’re holding — when the moon looks at you, you look back! That short poem paints a larger and lovely scene.
yes, so true!
Thank goodness you look up. Thank you DK.
🙂
This reminds me, we haven’t had a Wally post in a while. I miss his perspective 😀
OK Laila. It’s coming. You ask, we deliver. Might be a few days.
I like that this is a democracy 🙂
Yes, while it lasts!
i want to reach up and touch the edges …
After all, why are we on this planet if not to bring ourselves to its edges?
― Sloane Crosley, Grief Is for People (MCD, February 27, 2024)
Find the edges and breathe into them.

I need to know: do you keep a searchable notes folder of these quotes? Or is your memory just that good? What are you eating that makes your brain so impressive? Other than the ice-cream, of course.
I’m sure your off in dream land by now…though I wonder if you said “Good Night Moon” as you shut your blinds… I know when you are blessed with a grandchild you’ll read the sweet one…Margaret Wise Brown’s classic…”Good Night Moon” 🙂
btw such a great shot of the Moon…
It’s getting down to 47 tonight, 91 tomorrow & the rest of the week 93 on Saturday…early fall for sure…last Friday we had quite the storm, lots of rain along with Thunder and Lighting <<<rain is unusual here in the summer …the storm left some Snow in the mountains!!!
Love that book Christie. Think it was read to me as a child and we did the same for Rachel and Eric. And yes, it is supposed to be a cooker today. Stay cool!
Yes, such a perennial classic! I’ve said this before, as we watched the International Space Station whiz past, overhead…I’ve said I wonder if one of those Astronauts is reading “Good Night Moon” from Outer Space to their children on Earth as the ISS Astronauts are up close to the Moon…
Thanks, yes. I’m not a fan of excessive heat though I like seeing the sun…the low last night, was 46.
Enjoy the rest of your day.
90F here in Connecticut. It’s getting toasty!

I know exactly what you‘re saying – and I agree 100% – stunning catch. crazy master and cute dog in the garden….
Smiling. Thanks Kiki!
God never fails to keep us in awe. At a most mundane task in hand, he inspires us with the wonders and beauty of the universe that He graces us with.
