You have stood before some landscape, which seems to embody what you have been looking for all your life … All the things that have deeply possessed your soul have been but hints of it–tantalizing glimpses, promises never quite fulfilled, echoes that died away just as they caught your ear. But if it should really become manifest–if there ever came an echo that did not die away but swelled into the sound itself–you would know it. Beyond all possibility of doubt you would say ‘Here at last is the thing I was made for.’

Seems like turning the camera’s eye to the world around you is one of the things *you* were made for, pal. You’re killin’ it…. 🙂
Awww, thank you Lori….
I’m with Lori. Killin’ it!
Thank you.
Yes! That was the feeling when I stepped foot on Iona. Until that the moment I thought “kissing the ground” was a metaphor. I knelt and kissed the ground.
Smiling. Good for you Gordon. Good for you.
Serene! But at 6:34 a.m.? Here on the west coast, at 6:34 a.m. it’s still pitch black. And we’re on daylight saving time, so normally it would be 7:34 (and still darkish too). Of course, you have glimpses of sunshine there. I can hardly remember what that is. Anyway, your photo is great!
Yep, I checked the time stamp again and it’s correct. 6:34 am, live shot. Thank you Anneli!
We had a particularly dark morning with the heavy cloud cover, wind, and rain. Your photo looks so pleasant compared to our weather today.
It was very pleasant this morning….

Amazing time of day!! … “Beyond all possibility of doubt you would say ‘Here at last is the thing I was made for.’ … C.S. Lewis, The Problem of Pain.
I think it’s possible to have moments like this each day. And I def learned this from Mary Oliver and nature! 💚
Oh, I know that you realize this moment! Totally see that.
Is this your suddenly recognized desired landscape, DK?
Carol, it is my ONLY landscape!
But it seems to speak to your aching heart and eyes and inner child. Right there, right where you’re at. If so, it’s wonderful!
That’s true. It is!
Happy for you, that you found your spot. And big thank you, for sharing it with us. I’m still looking for mine. Many places have echoed loud, but not the one.
I believe you are there everywhere.
Everywhere, every turn, every nook and cranny.
I am late arriving at this daybreak. My day is now done. Yours already settled into night.
And still, that scene. Those words…
Move me. Stir me. Calm me.
I am grateful.
I end my day how it began, with gratitude.
Thank you.
Good. Thank you Louise.
that echo rings loud and true
doesn’t it though?!?!
You are capturing such beauty. Allow it to embrace you Dave. That’s all you need right now. 💛
Thank you Val. I think so…
Amazingly, gorgeous…you should have it enlarged and frame it for your home…peaceful calm…
