Refresh yourself, sister
With the water from the copper bowl with bits of ice in it –
Open your eyes under water, wash them –
Dry yourself with a rough towel and cast
A glance at a book you love.
In this way begin
A lovely and useful day.

sounds beautifully refreshing, but don’t think I could do the underwater with icecubes for my eyes…would be wonderful to dive into a pristine river or lake and wake up that way…

I could have used this technique this morning after spending most of the day on a sailboat (lucky me) then the evening – till 1 am! at a benefit concert with peeps I went to high school (and the drummer was my prom date, to boot 😉 )
Was a tad… groggy… this morn!

You paint a beautiful pic here! We spent the day in Paris from 8am to nr midnight and upon returning I realised that I had left one window open in our guest room….. NOT GOOD but at least refreshing! Shall now spend 2hrs or so on my poor worn out knees and rubbing bee-wax into those 100yrs old wooden parquet! 😉

OMG….. 🙂
no, we ‘just’ had a short but huge thunderstorm and the raindrops splattered across the whole room, and managed to spread to a diameter of an incredible 3m in every direction (which is the one thing I cannot understand, how can it rain to 3m BEHIND an open window…. and on our old floorboards?! Grrrrrmpf….
Tks for that complimenary giggle 🙂 🙂 🙂
