      1. Well, that’s good news already 😉
        Now you can only stumble because you might not be allowed to have a dog in a flat?! If that’s not the case, you really have to go over your books because this looks like a ‘given’ – human needs dog, human gets dog…. I am so very sure of this because I’m a 100% dog person (I don’t mind cats but I can do v.well without them) AND I don’t have one because of not being able to look after one all the time and not having anybody around who could take over ‘dog minding’ when I’m away. So come out with the truth, what IS it? 🙂

  5. We went out for dinner last night and at some point I looked out the window from where we were sitting and saw not one, not two, but three BEAUTIFUL Akitas. I want an Akitas so bad. And they were all still out on our way to the car. My heart skipped all the beats when ww played with them. I thought of you.

    It’s time to do something, you’re not good at begging, are you?

Take the reluctant individual to visit a dog shelter, just “to look.” We have four dogs, and we ended up with most of them because we were “just looking.” We went to buy cat food once and came home with a dog. Then, we went to buy dog food and came home with a second dog. THEN, we went to buy a hamster and came home with a third dog. Those shelters know what they’re doing when they park their pups outside pet stores! And, all of these shelter dogs have been absolutely wonderful (as all dogs are, of course).

  7. This should be an easy project for you, David. First get your analytics right. Understand the underlying issue(s). Strategize. Develop an irresistible vision. Sell it. Voilà! Dog in the family 🙂

  8. Hubby wanted a dog. I said no way! We drove 5 hours to meet a dog he saw on the internet. A rescue who needed a forever home. Of course, we came home with her and I love her to bits. Can´t imagine not having her in our lives. I hug her just like that. They know us better than we do. xo

  10. my dog knows way too much about me, which is how she keeps me in line and at her beck and call….i think it’s called blackmail…..i’d rather pony up the ransom than suffer the consequences….:)

  13. For the tango, you start with stillness and feeling the energy…. Dogs really want to move whether we stumble or prance–if you fall, they’ll lick you, and help all they can…ah-h the love!

    2. Val and David: THIS is the cutest definition of ‘downsizing’ I’ve ever heard 😉
      I started with small dogs (Dachshund) but I swear they take more space than any large one because they are EVERYWHERE…. but the idea is beautiful
