A morsel of gratitude for (my) Readers

One of the questions I always try to keep in the front of my mind is to ask why would anyone want to read this, and to try to find a positive answer for that. People’s time, if you bought it off them, is expensive. Someone’s going to give you eight or ten hours of their life. I want to give them something back, and I want it to be an enjoyable experience.

  1. Well…I know why I have your blog bookmarked on my computer. It’s because you are real, you’re smart, and your posts have a way of opening my heart and my mind. How could it get any better than that? You have truly become a part of my everyday life. Thank you, David, for all that you do.

  2. Grateful for you too David!

For me your blog is quick, profound, earthy and full of love for life, in all of its comings and goings. You’re a soul man. And, you also inspire me to keep up in my attempts at running. 🙂

    Happy Friday!

  3. Fantastic! Love this and I have to say, I love the goosebumps on the legs of the woman in the image – it would seem that whatever she is reading is worth her time! Which is so fitting…your blog is always worth my time – it leaves me thinking, pondering, re-examining and appreciating, and more. Thank you for expanding my thoughts on a daily basis – with your posts and conversation.

  4. David Mitchell is such a good writer, and I love what he has to say here! I feel some books today are nothing more than a cover with some great art. I like to read something deep, something worthwhile, and it’s so good when you come across a writer who wants to give that in their writing – my kind of writers!

I’m hoping to read The Bone Clocks soon, it’s quite different from his other novels, but looks very interesting – and very English! 😉
